YouTube is the most popular video platform today. Since Google bought it in 2006, the service has been constantly receiving many improvements.

Content creators are a key part of the YouTube ecosystem. They attract the public to the platform and to reward their work, Google allows them to monetize their YouTube channels after meeting certain requirements.

However, currently many content creators on YouTube are facing an issue that could affect the visibility and performance of their videos.

More specifically, there is an issue where YouTube videos get unlisted or are set to private automatically, and creators can do nothing to prevent it (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

YouTube videos set to private automatically

According to multiple reports, every video that many content creators try to upload on YouTube is set to ‘private’.

Some weird glitches on #YouTube this morning. I assure you, my video is not private. I see others having trouble with live streams as well. Try updating app, someone said that fixes it. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Okay, I guess I cant publish the videos today. No idea what the hell is going on, every video I try to publish is set to “private” even tho its public in the dashboard…@TeamYouTube Any help?

However, it’s worth pointing out that content creators have received comments on those videos. Yet this shouldn’t be possible with private videos.

Is this video showing private for you? https://youtu.be/nXiYE6V6w80

I think YouTube is having a little issue atm lol. Some people saying the video is private but normally you can’t comment on private videos so… It’ll probably be fine soon.

So, the above suggests that this issue could actually be a visual bug.

Some YouTube videos even get unlisted from the platform

In some cases, YouTube content creators’ videos are even unlisted from the platform, which can directly impact their visibility and, therefore, their monetization.

@YouTube Video was public on my channel came first and public video only. But my appears to unlisted the video went fir watching time. Now again that video was public again no more than 6 days which went to watchtime. So it took so long to return watch time and remonetze my channel.

YouTube team looking into it

The YouTube team is already aware of the issue in question and is investigating. However, there is no information yet on an estimated arrival date for a fix.

Thanks for the URL – we’ve seen similar reports on this issue with videos automatically being set to private/unlisted, and we’ll pass yours along too. Note that we’re already looking into it.
