[Updated] Rainbow Six Extraction Vigil not working bug where players can't interact with anything under investigation

Rainbow Six Extraction is the latest title in the Rainbow Six series. Despite being a PvE game unlike Rainbow Six Siege, it carries over some aspects of the gameplay such as the destructible environment and operators.

But this is where the similarities end. Unlike Siege, the recently launched title requires players to fight against parasites like aliens known as the Archaeans.

Having said that, the game has had a bunch of issues where players couldn’t launch the game, and those who could get in-game experienced crashes and freezes.

Then there is the Hive Mind Vigil Bundle which many players say is not available even after completing the set of required challenges.

And as if this wasn’t troublesome, many Rainbow Six Extraction players are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) a new bug with the operator Vigil which is preventing them from interacting with anything in the game.

Some say that they cannot shoot or aim either, making the game unplayable for them. This is really a serious issue, especially if you playing solo since you might have to wait a while before the enemies kill you.

VIGIL BUG (not being able to do basically anything)
There is a bug I get only playing vigil where for some odd reason you stop being able to do anything. You can’t swap guns, shoot, interact; only knife use your ability and run. If anyone has found a fix let me know. I’ve tried everything but going down because every time it happens I’m on the hardest diff so it’s hard to get down and not die.

Has anyone else had the bug where you are stuck holding your secondary weapon and cannot shoot, interact with the objective or swap weapons? It has only happened to me while I was playing as Vigil, but it has happened twice. I tried everything I could think of. I tried mashing keys, going prone/crouching, I tried throwing explosives, resetting key binds and putting up fortifications. Really the only thing I can do is exit to main menu or sacrifice myself to the Archaeans.

Fortunately, Ubisoft has acknowledged the Rainbow Six Extraction Vigil bug and said that it is currently under investigation. However, there in no ETA on when it will be fixed.

We hope the developers fix the issue with Vigil as soon as possible. Also, we hope Ubisoft disables the operator altogether until it is fixed since it is making the game unplayable for many/

05:31 pm (IST): A Ubisoft staff member has confirmed that this issue has been fixed in a maintenance.
