[Updated] Fortnite trees low-res or poor quality texture in Performance Mode issue acknowledged, workaround inside
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 02, 2022) follows:
Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale action games out there. For years now, the game has been maintaining a fairly large active player base.
Fortnite developers are constantly adding new content to keep things interesting. New content usually comes in the form of skins, weapons, items, or maps.
In addition to the above, the game offers various accessibility tools seeking to reach the largest possible number of players. The color blind mode settings is a good example of these tools
Also, for players whose hardware is old, Fortnite includes a Performance Mode. This reduces certain graphics effects during matches for a smoother experience.
With that being said, in recent days, many Fortnite players are experiencing a low-res or poor quality texture issue when activating Performance Mode (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
Fortnite low-res texture trees in Performance Mode
According to multiple reports, when Fortnite Performance Mode is on, the trees on the map are not rendering correctly. Textures and detail seem to disappear completely.
Anyone else having problems with trees not loading on performance mode on fortnite after the update?

your game trees are broken for Performance mode, the new shotgun is the worst thing ever, and spidey should have at least 40 shots in arena , not 20 + rotation is screwed.

Fortnite I am using perfomance beta mode and the trees are not rendering properly its confusing me please fix the problem.

As shown in the screenshot below, when the glitch is present, the lack of texture and detail in the trees makes them look like some kind of ‘amorphous mass’.

The issue reportedly started to occur after players installed the latest Fortnite update.
I play on PC on performance mode, and I too am seeing this issue after the last update. No idea how to fix it. I will try switching to directx modes and check if it’s still a problem.

Glitch acknowledged, potential workaround
Epic Games is aware of reports related to the bug causing low-res or poor quality texture trees in Fortnite. The company made an official acknowledgment of the matter on its public Trello board.

In addition to the above, as a potential workaround, players should set the ‘View Distance’ option to ‘Epic’. You can also disable Performance Mode (in case your hardware supports it).
At the moment, there is no estimated arrival date for a fix that resolves the bug. Once there are updates on this, we will update this article.
You may also check the Fortnite bugs/issues tracker for the current status of other problems affecting the game.
