[Updated] Apex Legends Kings Canyon disabled to address issue with gaming crashing while in Caustic Treatment plant

Respawn Entertainment launched Apex Legends in 2019 as a free-to-play game to compete in the battle royale segment against other big names like Fortnite.

Apex Legends offers multiple maps with different styles. However, there is currently a serious issue with one map in particular.

More specifically, many Apex Legends players were facing a crashing issue in Kings Canyon that was preventing them from finishing matches (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

Kings Canyon is an Apex Legends map made up of different scenarios that stands out especially for its geological faults and dangerous waterfalls.

However, the Apex Legends Kings Canyon map was unplayable for the last few days due to a crashing issue that occurred when players looted gold from the Caustic Treatment plant.

Game breaking error: Looting gold from caustic treatment plant in kings canyon causes the entire server to crash!

If you loot the gold stuff at the caustic treatment plant in kings canyon at any point during the match, the entire server crashes. My squad was able to reproduce the error many times because caustic treatment is our favorite place to drop. Please fix asap!

It only happens on Kings Canyon when you go to Caustic treatment and unlock the gold items. After the timer goes off the game will crash. It happened 3 attempts in a row!

Due to this situation, Respawn Entertainment decided to disable the map while they work on a fix for the issue.

Many Apex Legends players are disappointed because Kings Canyon is one of their favorite maps. Its peculiarities make it one of the most fun maps to play (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Kings canyon is the one map me and my friends look forward to. And they’re going to remove it from the roster for a bug fix??? They’ve patched bugs with Kings canyon in the roster before.

Yes bug fixes specifically for Kings canyon. Unless they’re breaking back skulltown and thunder dome, put it back in the roster now.

Nooooor, best map in the pubs rotation and it’s taken away. Now it’s either olympus or…. Storm point. Hopefully it’s fixed soon
