New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 02, 2022) follows:

Released in 2017, Destiny 2 is a free-to-play online multiplayer game developed by Bungie and published by Activision and Bungie.

Ever since the game went free under the New Light title, thousands of players have been enjoying Destiny 2 on a regular basis. The PvE game combines RPG and shooting elements and also features some PvP action.

That being said, Destiny 2 players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) that Reclaiming Europa Sabotaging Salvation mission is bugged. Many say they are unable to destroy or open the door with the energy core.

After trying to blast the door, players say they are kicked from the server and sent back to orbit. This is making it impossible to further progress in the campaign.

Some say they thought it was a connection issue and tried completing the quest once again but were kicked from the server every time they tried to destroy or open the door.

Generic solutions such as restarting the game and verifying game files do not seem to help in any way. Here is what some of the affected players have to say about the matter.

I am trying to complete the quest Reclaiming Europa but have the same bug every time I attempt it. I load in and get to the room where you need to blast open the door with the energy core. When I hit the door, it doesn’t do anything, and 5 seconds later, it kicks me from the server. This has happened 10 times over the course of 4 days and everything else has worked fine during that period, so it isn’t a network issue or internet dropping.

As the title says, the sabotaging salvation mission on Europa is bugged and booted me to orbit each time I completed the security hack on the door and attempted to blow it open with the power core. The power core instead just hit the door and it remained intact. I attempted this mission three times and it happened the exact same way each time. On my first attempt, I assumed a bad connection and reloaded the mission checkpoint. On the second try, I assumed client-side error and restarted my game. The mission still crashed on my third attempt at the exact same point after a full restart.

Thankfully, Bungie has commented on the issue and said they will look into it.

Thanks for your report. We’ll begin an investigation into this issue.
