The Motorola Edge 20 is one of the most attractive mid-range phones that was released in 2021. Featuring a 6.7-inch 144Hz OLED screen, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G and comes with 8GB of RAM.

Soon after its release, many were wondering if Motorola would be updating the Edge 20 series. The company initially said it would provide only one major Android update.

But after receiving backlash, Motorola changed their statement and said the Edge 20 series will be getting at least two Android OS updates and bi-monthly security patches.

While the phone offers good value for money, Motorola Edge 20 users seem to be getting DF-DFERH-01 error when trying to download or install apps from the Google Play Store. User reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) suggest that the problem surfaced after updating to the February patch.

Some say they tried clearing the Play Store app data and cache, re-adding Google account, restarting the phone, and even factory resetting but nothing seems to help right now.

Below are some reports from frustrated Motorola Edge 20 users who are unable to use the Google Play Store due to error DF-DFERH-01.

Hi there, I recently obtained this beautiful device it was all good last night. I went to play Store to obtain some apps when all of a sudden i got a error msg in Play Store DF-DFERH-01, l then performed troubleshooting steps from Google and rebooted that’s when i had the msg on reboot “BootSafe !!!” It did not hang rebooted and gave this screen.

Hello everyone, A few days ago I have encountered the following problem: when I access the Play Store, every time I am trying to search for an application I receive the error “DF-DFERH-01”. I have tried all the conventional methods, like clearing the cache memory and storage memory of Play Store, clearing the cache memory of the Play Store Services, restarting the phone and deleting the Google account and adding it again. I have all the updates done for the phone. Can you please advise what else can I do? Attached a print screen with the error. Thank you!

Thankfully, Motorola India has commented on the matter and said they are aware of the issue where users are getting Google Play Store error DF-DFERH-01 after updating to the February patch.

However, Motorola did not share any timeline on when the problem will be resolved. We hope the developers soon find out the root cause of the issue and fix it as soon as possible.

05:12 pm (IST): One of the affected users suggested a simple workaround for this issue. So, if you are still facing this problem then you can try the solution given below and see if it helps.

i hope this helps you. after i had this issue i started using chrome to search for an app and then click on it which will Directly take you okay store location and then you can proceed to install it like normal (Source)
