Dead by Daylight is a unique multiplayer game that consists of a lobby of 5 players with one playing the role of a killer. It is developed and published by the Canadian game studio Behaviour Interactive.

Others have to escape the killer and repair five generators to survive and escape successfully. Thanks to the developers frequently pushing out new content and characters, the six year old game still feels fresh.

But in the last few months, players have complained of various issues such as adrenaline not working or activating and infinite loading screen.

And now, many Dead by Daylight players say (1,2,3) they are tired of the unfair and broken skill based matchmaking system. According to reports, the game is matching low rank players with high rank, making it hard for them to win a round.

I’ve been playing DBD for about as long as it’s come out on Xbox, I’ve played it casualty with me falling in love and falling out with it, I’ve recently started playing more with nemisis coming out and now this new matchmaking has made me hate the game. I’ve never really improved with the game. So with the new system and how long I’ve been playing with all the killers and levels I have it thinks I’m really good cause I get matched up withs iridecents silver and bronzes it’s not fair, and amount of pc players makes it unbearable.

No matter how many mercilesses or skill based downs I get as killer, the survivors are always stupid, and I’m always being paired with them. To some, this might seem good, but to me this is bad, because I want to actually learn how to get better, and having basically bots is getting real annoying. Imagine having to keep playing the tutorial match over and over again For survivor it seems to be a similar situation, except with one major change. The killer actually is on level with me, but my teammates are not, which is terrible because they camp every single pallet and just drop them like no tomorrow.

It looks like the developers will be allegedly bringing some changes and incentivizing players to play the role of the killer.

To improve waiting time in the queue for matchmaking, there’s going to be incentive in the form of additional Bloodpoints that you receive after switching to a specific role.(amount of reward is calculated based on the ratio of Killers to Survivors in the queue) #dbdleaks #dbd

Apart from the unfair and broken matchmaking algorithm, many Dead by Daylight players say they are unable to find any matches at all.

It looks like some are getting ‘Error: The matchmaking process failed. timeoutCreated.’ message when searching for a match.

Has anyone keep getting this error message?
I’m trying to play a killer or even survivor, and I get this “Matchmaking process failed. Reason:timeoutCreated”. I didn’t dc or anything to deserve it. What’s going on?

Whenever I try to look for a game it gives me this error message that says “Error: The matchmaking process failed. timeoutCreated.” Before you ask, no this isn’t a result of a DC because if it was then I would have the DC penalty timer. But I didn’t DC in the last game I played before getting these constant errors and didn’t have the DC penalty timer, and yet it’s telling me this little thing even when the DC penalty timer isn’t there.

While Behaviour Interactive is yet to acknowledge the issue, it looks like players are able to find matches by turning crossplay on.

I was trying crossplay off yesterday night and switching back to crossplay on fixed it. Crossplay off is unstable for some reason.

Some players say the matchmaking issues are because too many people want to be survivors compared to those playing killers.

We hope Dead by Daylight developers fix the aforementioned issues as soon as possible. If and when they do, we will be updating this space to reflect the same.
