Destiny 2 is one of the most popular multiplayer shooting games on Steam. Developed by Bungie, the title generates revenue using the games as a service model.

Thanks to the developers frequently updating the game, thousands of people play the game every day even four years after its release.

But, these updates cause some problems like some players getting ‘Riding the Storm’ and ‘Stoking the Flame’ quests randomly or long load times and performance issues on both PC and consoles.

Having said that, Destiny 2 players have been complaining (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) about the Wellspring Deepsight weapons low drop rate issue. Many say they see only a couple of drops with some saying that the drop rate is close to zero.

Players are frustrated and wondering if they are the only ones who are rarely seeing the Wellspring Deepsight weapons. The weapons do not seem to drop even after playing sessions lasting multiple hours.

Even some master players say they rarely find the drops. Below are some reports from Destiny 2 players frustrated by the low drop rate.

deepsight resonance weapons are so rare, even on master
did 4 runs on master and got 1 regular weapon is there some type of consumable to increase the chance of getting red weapons? I wouldn’t mind if wellspring had something else to offer but its just a boring activity. We’ve had great activities that let you focus loot at the end such as menagerie and sundial, so what happened with wellspring?

Wellspring Guns need a drop chance increase. Going after Deepsight versions for the quests is annoying when after 4 hours of grinding I got zero drops with it. Other than that expansion is one of the best new to Forsaken and TTK. They’re getting better at story telling too.

After hearing player feedback, Bungie has commented on the matter and said they are looking into the Destiny 2 Wellspring Deepsight weapons low drop rate issue.

Team’s aware of reports where players are running multiple hours of the activity with minimal Deepsight drops. Once we have information to share, we’ll let you know.

We hope they increase the drop rate so Destiny 2 players have to grind less to get the Wellspring Deepsight weapons and unlock the pattern by the end of the season.

Update 1 (March 01)

02:45 pm (IST): The game director of Destiny 2 has confirmed that they will increase the drop chances for weapons in Wellspring in a patch coming next week.

In a patch targeting next week, we will be increasing the drop chances for weapons in Wellspring, and adding bad luck protection for both getting a standard drop and getting a Deepsight resonate version of a weapon. [4/13] (Source)
