The Sims 4 is one of the most popular social simulation games in the world. Developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, the game was launched in 2014 and has been going ever since.

It focuses on character creation and improvisation along with some personality and emotion systems. Over the years, the game has received several content updates that have managed to keep players engaged.

Having said that, the game recently received a new content update called My Wedding Stories. But ever since it was released, The Sims 4 players are complaining (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that weddings are not working or broken.

Players say that nothing ever goes according to their plan. This is making the majority of those who bought the pack angry and negatively affecting the gameplay experience for others.

Some thought it might be an issue with their mods and add-ons so they tried disabling or removing them but to no avail.

So, on the day of Wedding Stories release I played the game with mods. I was super excited until it came to the actual wedding. For one on the actual day, I chose a venue with two arches. I selected one and half of the wedding party went to the other to sit, i tried gathering people around the aisle and they just sat in their chairs, my bride couldn’t throw the bouquet and then it suddenly disappeared, before this I had a wedding cake in my inventory, clicking on it did nothing. I couldn’t select the cake and was confused when it came to selecting it for the event, but now I know it’s because the choice option wasn’t showing up.

I assigned outfits for the guests and NONE of them showed up in their formal outfits, and they were all in their everyday clothes. None of the sims sat down in the aisle when i told them to and when they finally did they either got up and and left or were talking to each other and ignoring the ceremony. The officiant i assigned to my wedding left and i had to marry them without her. The ring bearer or sim of honor did not walk down the aisle like i told them to so i had to leave them out as well. The sims did not do their first wedding dance no matter how much i ordered them too. I also wanted to gather for a toast, they didn’t do that either.

Thankfully, EA Help has acknowledged The Sims 4 issue where weddings are broken and said they are currently working to fix it. However, they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.
