Incoming is a service outage alert! Is the HBO Max app down, not working for you at the moment, or throwing an error stating “Oops! Something went wrong” or “Can’t connect to HBO Max”?

Please be informed that the service is seemingly going through an outage in some regions which has got affected users to route to micro-blogging site Twitter and other online discussion platforms to highlight their concern.

Update 1 (July 01, 2021)

HBO Max support has officially confirmed the problem saying:

our team is aware that some customers can’t access HBO Max right now. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, could you please tell us what device you’re having trouble streaming on?

Update 2 (July 02, 2021)

HBO Max support confirmed that the issue has been fixed already. Hence, if you’re still experiencing the problem, you might want to restart your device and try again.

Update 3 (July 03, 2021)

It seems that PlayStation users are still facing issues with HBO Max as the company’s support team is responding to complaints stating that they’re aware of the ‘Opps’ error and are working on a fix.

Update 4 (February 28, 2022)

There appears to have been a short outage with HBO Max as many users were left disappointed because they were unable to watch the season finale of Euphoria when it dropped or anything else. Luckily, things have seemingly returned to normal but there’s no confirmation from the company’s support.

10:32 am (IST): HBO Max Help on Twitter has now confirmed that the issues with their service have been resolved.

Update 5 (December 26, 2022)

08:40 am (IST): Multiple reports on Twitter and Downdetector indicate that HBO Max subscribers are facing issues while trying to stream content on the platform.

@Roku and @hbomax seem to be down right now, or at least having issues. Guess everyone got new TV’s for Christmas? (Source)

Wtf, @netflix, @hulu, @PrimeVideo, @DisneyPlus, @peacock, and @hboma are all down at one time? The only streaming service I have that seems to be working is @AppleTV. I guess it’s time for some #Tedlasso binging! Also I realize I subscribe to too many streaming services. (Source)

Update 6 (January 16, 2023)

09:02 am (IST): Multiple HBO Max users report that the platform is down or not loading form them (1, 2, 3, 4), and the cause could be a server overload after the premiere of ‘The Last of Us’ series.

Update 7 (May 23, 2023)

04:44 pm (IST): HBO Max (now called simply ‘Max’) users are currently unable to log into the service due to an error message (1, 2).

Update 8 (May 24, 2023)

04:44 pm (IST): Several Max users are getting a ‘Not available in your region’ error that prevents them from accessing the service even from supported regions. More on that here.

Update 9 (May 25, 2023)

05:23 pm (IST): There are users for whom the MAX content gets stuck in a loop and never finishes loading.

Update 10 (June 6, 2023)

11:49 am (IST): Some MAX users are getting an ‘Unexpected error’ message when trying to cast the content to a supported screen (1, 2).

Update 11 (June 7, 2023)

03:35 pm (IST): Reports related to the Max app ‘Unexpected error’ seem to have been significantly reduced since yesterday.
