[Updated] Assassin's Creed Valhalla unable to progress in 'The Flame and the Forge' & 'A Brewing Storm' quests, issues under investigation

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 01, 2022) follows:

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been dubbed as one of the best games in the decades-old franchise.

Even after two years after its release, Ubisoft is bringing new content to the game, with the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC set to release on March 10 this year.

That being said, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players say that they are facing a couple of issues trying to complete certain quests.

The Flame and the Forge

Many Valhalla players are complaining that they are unable to progress in the ‘The Flame and the Forge’ quest. Reports suggest that the cutscene is not playing after talking to Gunnar to commence his wedding.

It looks like reloading the save and restarting the game is not helping. Even loading a different save seems to make no difference.

This problem still exists. Experienced it today with a fully up to date game on a 70+ hour savegame, and the game has now become practically broken. Because of this bug my blacksmith is now stuck at the wedding forever! And so are all the other inhabitants of Ravensthorpe. Please reopen this issue with the developers and fix it properly. Loading earlier saves (a few hours before) makes no difference. And I’m not tossing out 70+ hours gameplay.

I have exactly the same situation. No cutscene, no “Speak to Randvi” on the top of the screen, I can only interact with the apples and sit down for a drink. I see Randvi dancing, but I can’t interact with her or any other character at the wedding, the town is empty, since most of the characters are there… can’t drink the potion to go to Asgard, cannot raid… And the most frustrating thing is, that apparently this bug has been going on for 2 years (as far as I have read from older posts).

Thankfully, Ubisoft Support Staff has shed some light on the matter and said the issue is currently under investigation. But there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your reports with us. I can confirm that the dedicated teams have been notified of this issue occurring in-game, and that they are investigating further. I’ve now forwarded all of the reports that have been shared with us so far within this thread so the team can take a closer look at these as part of the ongoing investigation.

A Brewing Storm

As it turns out, Valhalla players are unable to progress in ‘A Brewing Storm’ quest as well. Many say that the cutscene is not triggering for them when they wake up.

So I just picked up on my male Eivor again and I’m only like 55 hours in and I’m stuck on A Brewing Storm quest and I don’t talk to Dag like I’m supposed to, I just find him fighting people and when he’s not fighting anyone he just immediately attacks me. If you’ve had this issue can you help me fix it please.

The bug where the cutscene with Dag doesn’t play after sleeping in the quest is still present despite being an issue for over a year. It is infuriating to spend 60$ on a game and then not be able to continue halfway through. I’ve tried every possible fix online, but still no luck. Does anyone have a fix that they know works? Because I know damn well Ubisoft isn’t going to help. Playing on Xbox One and game is fully updated.

Fortunately, Ubisoft seems to be aware of the issue and said that it is currently under investigation.

I’m sorry to hear that you are unable to progress in “A Brewing Storm” once waking up. I have notified the dedicated teams and have reopened the investigation into this issue. I’ve also forwarded all of the reports that have been shared with us so far. Thank you for taking the time to post these.

We hope Valhalla developers find out the root cause of these issues since those affected are unable to progress in the main story. When they do, we will let you know so stay tuned.
