Original story (published on June 09, 2021) follows:

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 Invasion went live yesterday and brought along a slew of new stuff including a sci-fi alien theme complete with UFOs and weapons like Rail Gun, Flexible Pulse Rifle, and Kymera Ray Gun.

But along with this awesome update, there has also been a spike in complaints regarding login errors on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Several users have reported that attempting to login to Fortnite results in an error message that reads “unexpected error has occurred while signing in”.

I am having login issues for the New season of Fortnite. Am I the only one experiencing this? The game takes forever to load it that it just crashes the game and sends me back to my Xbox Dashboard. I don’t know who to go for this.. Help. @FortniteGame @FortniteStatus @Xbox

Some have even stated that the game takes forever to load and when it does load, it simply crashes and takes players back to the Xbox dashboard.

The issue isn’t exactly new though as complaints regarding it date all the way back to last year. It is not clear what’s taking Fortnite so damn long to fix it.

Thankfully, Fortnite has finally acknowledged the issue saying that they’re working to address it on all affected Xbox platforms.

But as you wait for a fix, there are a few things that you can try to work around the Fortnite “unexpected error has occurred while signing in” issue on Xbox.

1. Log out of the account: Log out of your Fortnite account, close Fortnite, and then restart it. This will prompt you to sign back in.

2. Clear MAC address: You can also try opening up Settings on the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X and heading over to General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC address. Then, just clear it followed by a system restart.

Hopefully, this helped with the Fortnite “unexpected error has occurred while signing in” and crash issues on Xbox. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb so that you do not miss out on any new developments.
