Developed by Apple Inc., the first version of the Apple Watch was first released in 2015. In a matter of a few months, the device went on to become the best-selling smartwatch of all time.

Since then, Apple has been releasing new iterations of the Apple Watch every September with upgraded internals and design. The smartwatch runs on Apple’s watchOS that offers several useful features.

But as is the case with every device, users have reported a bunch of issues such as the one that caused battery drain with third-party chargers with watchOS 8.3 update.

And now, it looks like a bunch of Apple Watch users are facing an issue where they are unable to edit the text on alarm labels or reminders. It looks like the bug was affecting those running watchOS 8.3 and hasn’t been fixed in the recently released watchOS 8.4 update.

This has angered a lot of Apple Watch owners since it is making the alarm and reminder function useless for them. Some said they tried resetting the device but it makes no difference.

(i do notice that the screen has changed, so it now has emojis as a possibility too – ugh!) is this a glitch, or did something change and i need to alter my settings? any advice please? thanks!

I just replaced my iPhone XS with an iphone 13 pro yesterday and transitioned my Apple watch 6 to the new phone. Today I’m finding that on the watch I am unable to edit reminders or alarm labels. I can enter the modified text into the alarm or label, but the changed text doesn’t save – the original text stays unchanged. I tried re-booting the watch and the phone, but it doesn’t solve the problem. The new phone was set up by restoring a full backup saved on my iMac. The watch was unpaired from the old phone.Any suggestions on how to get the watch functions to work properly again?

While the company is yet to officially comment on the matter, one of the affected users said they went to Apple to address the issue and that the staff was able to reproduce the problem.

They have allegedly forwarded the diagnostic data to Apple engineers, so there’s at least some hope for a possible fix in the near future.

Rest assured, we will be tracking further developments on the matter and update this article when Apple fixes the problem where Watch owners are unable to edit the text in alarm labels and reminders.
