Call of Duty Warzone is one of the most controversial titles in the franchise. Released in March 2020, it is a part of COD Modern Warfare. It is the first free-to-play Battle Royale game in the series.

Unlike previous COD games, Warzone has no single-player campaign and can only be played online. Within just one year, Activision said the game had more than 100 million active players.

Having said that, Warzone players are no strangers when it comes to bugs and issues with some recently getting a ‘Content package is no longer available’ error.

Now, Warzone players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that weapon camos are not staying or get unequipped after they exit the gunsmith. Many say that the problem surfaced after a recent update.

This is making it impossible for many to use their weapon camos in-game since the changes are reverted whenever players get into a match.

Generic solutions such as restarting Warzone, verifying files, and even reinstalling the game do not seem to make any difference. Here is what some players affected by the bug have to say.

Damascus camos keep deselecting after every match
I haven’t been having this issue prior to season 2. Today, I booted up the new season for the first time and saw all my camos were deselected. Re-equipped them, went into a game and they were gone again. Anyone else having this issue?

Recent Camo bug after playlist update
All unlocked camos are unable to stay on the weapon no matter what save it ,copy and replace do whatever it doesn’t make your custo camo a permanent save in your custom class,in other words you have the custom weapon without the camo you unlocked

Many are wondering if Raven Software will ever be able to release an update without introducing new bugs and issues.

As it turns out, Raven Software has acknowledged the Warzone issue where weapon camos are not staying after exiting the Gunsmith. Unfortunately, they did not share any timeframe on when the bug will be fixed.

Update 1 (February 21)

04:14 pm (IST): One of the affected players has suggested that the weapon camos are working on last 5 class slots in COD: Warzone. So, players can try this as a workaround until any permanent fix arrives.

Update 2 (February 25)

11:02 am (IST): The latest patch for COD: Warzone includes a fix for this issue where weapon camos do not stay or get unequipped.

Fixed an issue causing certain Weapon Camos to unequip when backing out of the Weapons tab in the main menu. (Source)
