Original story (published on February 16, 2022) follows:

Launched in November last year, Vanguard is the latest installment in the long-running Call of Duty franchise. Critiques have praised the game for its campaign, improved visuals, and multiplayer.

But as is the case with previous versions of Call of Duty, Vanguard has had its fair share of bugs and issues. From missing Combat Pacing on Hardcore mode to crashing on ‘Fetching Online profile’, the list seems to be endless.

Adding fuel to the fire, Vanguard players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that aim assist is not working as intended. Some say that it is inconsistent with the crosshair sometimes shifting away from the enemy.

Many say that the aim assist is broken since release and that there is no improvement even after the start of Season 2. It looks like the problem is making the game unplayable for console players since they rely on aim assist to consistently land shots.

Below are some reports from Vanguard players complaining about the aim assist not working or being inconsistent.

Not only does aim assist not work, it actively pushes me OFF the target
This is the most frustrating thing right now. It’s bad enough I don’t get proper aim assist, but it’s actually aim resist. I can feel my aim actively being pushed off the target. I’m like a stormtrooper at times because no matter how I adjust my aim it keeps getting pushed off the target. How is this not an absolute priority right now??

This is similar to a post I have made before, but the issue has not been fixed and the trello board has not been updated, so I am posting again. I am currently receiving infrequent aim assist slowdown (usually none) while playing on Xbox series X. I play with default aim assist. I will lose aim assist slowdown against all types of players and have tested this in custom games. I know I am not the only player experiencing this because my brother also has an Xbox series X and experiences the same issue. This has been a problem for about 2 months now and makes the game borderline unplayable while playing against players who have aim assist.
