New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 29, 2022) follows:

It looks like Ubisoft was jealous of Electronic Arts’ FIFA 22 and wanted to make a game that competes with the title when it comes to the number of bugs. Fortunately, they hit jackpot with the release of Far Cry 6.

Launched in October of 2021, the game is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and was soon riddled with several issues that made it completely unplayable.

Recently players complained that they were stuck in a dog cage/kennel and were unable to escape. And now, Far Cry 6 players are reporting (1,2,3) that the game is spawning them in the middle of the ocean.

While this might sound really funny at first, it looks like the bug is making it impossible for those affected to play the game at all since they are stuck in a death loop underwater.

They added that the world map is accessible but they are unable to fast travel since the option is greyed out. Some say they tried inviting their friends over but the game spawns them in the ocean as well.

My friend and I were playing the final mission and as soon as we walked into Castillo’s building we fell through the floor to some random water area. We killed ourselves to try to get out and spawned in the middle of the ocean. We then got off the game and when we got back on we are unable to continue the mission or start it again. Can anyone help?

I have put a good many hours into this game but took a break recently. I just loaded up again for the first time in a while and I’m stuck in the middle of the ocean under the water. Not only am I underwater I’m under the map. After a few seconds I drown and respawn in the same place. Even tho I can access the map I can’t fast travel because the option to is greyed out. I have tried inviting a friend but he spawns right next to me. It doesn’t matter how far we swim because it puts us back to where we were previously when we die.

Restarting and reinstalling the game seems to make no difference either. Many are wondering what they can do to fix the issue so they can continue playing.

Fortunately, it looks like Ubisoft is aware of the issue where Far Cry 6 players are spawning in the ocean and that it is currently under investigation.

Hi everyone, The development team have confirmed that they will be deploying a fix for this issue in a future update. We don’t yet have an ETA for when this update will be released. Once we have more information regarding the update it will be posted within this thread and in the patch notes shared within the News & Announcements forum. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

However, they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed. When they do, we will update this space so stay tuned.
