New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 05, 2022) follows:

BritBox is a content streaming service backed by big names like the BBC and ITV plc. Unlike other similar services, this one focuses on content of British origin.

However, many users of the service have in the last few hours started facing issues when trying to enjoy content because they are unable to access BritBox

According to multiple reports, BritBox is currently unavailable as users only receive a ‘not currently available in your country’ error message.

BritBox ‘not currently available in your country’ error message

Multiple reports describing the same situation have surfaced in the last few hours. The ‘not currently available in your country’ error message is frustrating many BritBox users.

@BritBox_UK why is mny britbox not working on my amazon firestick, I get the following message, The streaming home of great british tv. Unfortunately, Britbox is not currently available in your country. Yes, britbox is available in Australia.

@BritBox_US are there known issues with SamsungTV and FireTV apps in the US?

Asking because I get the following message on both:
Unfortunately, Brotvox is not currently available in your country. I am able to stream from my phone though.

While the service (as well as many others like it) have regional content limitations, the error appears to be showing up for users who live in a territory where BritBox should be available.

@BritBox_US I’m suddenly not able to watch via @RokuSupport. I reinstalled app and now it says “not available in my country.” I’m in the US. There’s no VPN on. It works fine on my iPad. What’s going on?

No official acknowledgment yet

There does not seem to be an official acknowledgment from the company on this matter, which is affecting many. We will update this article with all new information as it becomes available.

Update 1 (February 07)

03:40 pm (IST): BritBox US on Twitter confirmed that their service has been restored. And users who are still facing issues can try signing out then back in or reboot the Fire TV.

Update 2 (February 09)

04:31 pm (IST): Although this issue was resolved earlier, some users still say that they are unable to access the service, with BritBox acknowledging the issue yet again.

And while a user said that it’s working again, the UK website is still inaccessible and throws an error 403.
