[Updated] Elite Dangerous: Odyssey SRV material gathering issue after latest update 10 under investigation, potential workaround inside

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is the latest version of the saga of action, exploration and survival games in outer space. It usually receives new content on a constant basis.

Recently, the game (developed by Frontier Developments) received a new patch. More specifically, it is the Update 10 Patch for Elite Dangerous: Odyssey with optimizations and some new content.

However, according to multiple reports, the most recent patch update brought a glitch. The problem is related to the gathering of materials for the SRV material system.

Players of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey report that, after update patch 10, there is an issue that directly affects when they want to use SRV material gathering (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

It appears that players are now unable to pick more than a single material for the SVR. When they try to pick a second material, the game does not allow it.

Issue with srv cargo scoop

G’day. I’m currently on an expedition out into the black, and am trying to gather some materials for srv fuel. However, I’m encountering an issue with the SRV. I blast an outcrop, pick up the first material, material acquired pops up and then doesn’t go away, and I can no longer pick up another material until I go back to the ship and redeploy the SRV.

Can only collect one material at Davs Hope.

I have farmed Dav’s Hope many times before, including one run *last night* before logging out. This morning I log in at Dav’s Hope, open my SRV scoop, and I can only collect one material. Any material that I attempt to scoop after that is either destroyed upon running over it, or no reaction at all.

Currently, the team behind Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is aware of the bug. The company is investigating about it, but does not offer information on a possible estimated date of arrival for a fix.

But apparently there is a workaround that helps to temporarily resolve the glitch. Basically, some players recommend to log out and log in again in the game.

Can’t pickup multiple things with an srv?

Just got on Odyssey after the update, now if I pickup some cargo in my srv, targeting another piece of cargo just says “Cargo Acquired” in the bottom left and driving over it does nothing. Relogging fixes the problem, and lets me pickup another piece.

04:20 pm (IST): Elite Dangerous has confirmed that they will release a hotfix update next week that will be aimed at resolving a number of issues. So, we hope it to fix the Odyssey SRV material-gathering issue as well.
