Twitter 'For you' & 'Trending' tabs no longer listing topics of your interest? You aren't alone
Twitter is undeniably one of the largest micro-blogging platforms. And every year, the social media platform seems to be growing in terms of popularity and user base.
Having said that, Twitter recently updated its search page user interface and now includes a ‘For You’ and ‘Trending’ tab.
While the new UI is not available to everyone as of now, those who were able to experience it said they were angry with Twitter since it was forced on them. Many are even looking for ways to revert to the old version.
All in all, Twitter users seem to be disliking the new changes since the ‘For You’ section now looks like TikTok and Instagram.
And now, users are saying that the ‘For You’ and ‘Trending’ tabs never shows content (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that caters to their interests. Some say that they are seeing completely random content, making it completely useless.
Twitter why do you think I am interested in hockey or football? It’s all that is on my for you tab and tbh I’m not even sure how you decided that is what I want to see. I don’t follow a single sports team or athlete on here. At least show my figure skating geeze.
How do I make Twitter stop showing me sportsball? I’ve muted NFL, said I’m not interested in literally any of the trending sports topics, I’ve BLOCKED NFL and many sports accounts and I still get a whole row of game scores in my “For You” tab. I just want a sports-free feed!!
It looks like Twitter is showing content with keywords users have muted or marked as ‘not interested in this’, which is really infuriating.
Dear @Twitter I’m going to really need you to stop pushing extreme right-wing topics on my ‘For You’ tab. No matter how many times I flag them, say I’m not interested, or mark them as “spammy or harmful” I continue to get them & it’s been like this for MONTHS! @TwitterSupport
It looks like the Twitter algorithm is not connecting to the users and their interests if we take a look at the ‘For You’ and ‘Trending’ sections.
We hope Twitter makes some changes to their AI so users can see what they are interested in.
