Developed and published by Frontier Developments, Elite Dangerous is a flight simulation game where the player assumes the role of a pilot.

It is the fourth game in the series and was launched on Windows in December of 2014. To date, it has generated more than $100 million in revenue.

That being said, Elite Dangerous players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that they are facing issues with cosmetic items on Xbox. Many say that their game crashes whenever they access paint jobs, with some saying that they are getting a ‘Yellow Adder’ error.

The bug seems to be angering a lot of Elite Dangerous players since some are missing ship livery items that they had bought using real money. Rebooting and reinstalling the game seems to make no difference.

So during mud flight i saw my skin actually leave my ship my skin was the anaconda pulse whute so its very noticeable when the pulse actually leaves. So i go to the outpost thinking it might just have bugged out and try to reapply it. Well now its telling me i lost owner ship of the skin i went to my condor and same deal i even crashed when trying to apply it. Wtf Btw im on xbox

Everytime I try to access my shipkits, paint jobs etc, it crashes the game. I’m on console. Also some weirdness going on, like have to try to load the shipyard multiple times. Anyone else Actually, everything is acting weird. I keep crashing while trying to outfit my ships. Crashing when I’m landing in a station. Everything I do is crashing the game. I’ve been playing for over three years and I’ve never seen anything like this. Keep getting mauve and yellow adders.

Thankfully, Elite Dangerous developers seem to be aware of the ongoing issues with cosmetic items and said that it is currently under investigation.

And apart from the issue with cosmetic items, some Elite Dangerous players are having trouble (1,2,3) accessing the Horizons benefits.

Many say that they are unable to land on planets because of the bug and are getting an error message that says ‘You need Horizons to land here’.

I was out exploring, landing on planets and mining their goodies on Xbox. Then all of a sudden I can’t land on the planet any,ore and it says, you must have horizons to land on a planet. Well, as I understand, horizons is included. Kinda frustrating cause landing on plants is my favorite part. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

I’ve had this bug before, but I’m trying to land on a planet and I keep getting a message: “You need Horizons to land here”. I was literally on a planet yesterday, so I don’t get it. I have horizons dlc, I restarted the game like 4 times, restarted my Xbox twice and tried in solo, open and group mode but I cannot land on this planet or any others….

Thankfully, the developers have acknowledged the issue as well and said that it is currently under investigation.

Update 1 (January 29)

03:24 pm (IST): Elite Dangerous on Twitter has confirmed that they will release a hotfix update next week that will be aimed to fix various reported issues.
