Fortnite, the successful battle-royale developed by Epic Games, constantly receives new content through updates. The novelties arrive in the form of items, weapons, characters, maps, or challenges.

Following the most recent Fortnite Season Update, the game received a set of weekly challenges for players to complete and earn rewards.

One of the new Fortnite challenges is based on buying an item from a Malfunctioning Vending Machine. However, many players report that completing it is nearly impossible, due to the low vending machine spawn.

Fortnite low malfunctioning vending machine spawn

According to multiple reports, since the challenge was established, the vending machines spawn dropped excessively. Players could spend hours without encountering a vending machine (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

Malfunctioning vending machines

The malfunctioning vending machine challenge is total complete excrementitious nonsense. I check over half of them each game. Ramp high, die. Over and over again and still I haven’t found one. If it takes more than 45 mins which it has then that qualifies as excrementitious nonsense. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same result.

Some players report that wasting all the time that the challenge in question requires is not worth it. Apparently, it will be practically impossible to complete it (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

Warning: DO NOT DO THE MALFUNCTIONING VENDING MACHINE QUEST

One of the quests for this weeks season quests are to buy an item from a malfunctioning vending machine. This quest only gives 25k xp. I have spent 4 hours doing the most efficient way possible (coney to sleepy) and still havent gotten one. But I have gotten 100k+ worth of game xp from attempts so screw the quests. Ive searched over 150 machines and nothing

Dozens of matches played to find a single one

In some cases, Fortnite players have reportedly had to play dozens of matches in order to find one of the valuable vending machines. But, this means playing around 50-60 matches.

I’m speechless…

I have probably played about 50-60 matches since Thursday, when the weekly season quests were added, searching for a malfunctioning vending machine despite finding one very often before then. finally find one at shifty shafts, with a player sitting right on it. I fight them and they just spam built a box around themself, needless to say I won by a significant margin.

At the moment, Epic Games has not ruled on the complaints of the players. If any related changes arise in the next few days, we will update this article.
