If you are into smart homes, you must have heard of Logitech’s Harmony lineup of remote controls and automation devices.

Having said that, the Logitech Harmony Hub is a smart hub that lets users control IR and Bluetooth devices as well as other smart devices such as Thermostats, smart bulbs, locks, and blinds.

Apart from letting users control smart devices, users can also perform several actions such as controlling the volume and changing channels, even if you are not at home. Thanks to Logitech, it supports more than 270,000 smart devices.

But according to recent reports from Logitech Harmony Hub owners, the device is unable to wake up Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max from Sleep. Moreover, it looks like the device is very slow to connect to the Hub.

Many are frustrated since they have to wait minutes before being able to control their Fire TV Stick 4K Max using the Harmony Hub.

It looks like the issue persists only with this model of Fire TV Stick since some are saying that previous versions are working just fine.

Hi and many thanks to your effort. same problem here. FireTv Stick4k has been working properly. After Upgrade to the 4K max Harmony is working after pairing until the device has been powered down. Then the stick can only waked up with the original FireTv Remote.

Same problem with my setup. Sent my new 4k max back to Amazon yesterday. Ordered the standard 4k version. Not happy that Amazon cannot get off it’s b-m and get it fixed. Their software guys must be aware of the changes made in on version to the next. The Fire Stick 4k max sleeps after a while so if running the Fire Stick activity after a bit of time the Harminy remote has disconected and I have a blank tv screen until I press the ok button on the Fire Stick OEM remote.

As it turns out, Logitech has allegedly acknowledged the issue and said they are currently working on a fix. However, they did not share any ETA.

Latest update (11/23) from Logitech support (ticket # 7296820):
“Sorry for the inconvenience faced. We have already forwarded this to concerned team and they are working on this. However, we can’t provide any ETA on this at the moment. I will get back to you once I received any update from them. Thanks for your understanding.”

We hope Amazon works with Logitech and resolves the bug that is preventing Harmony Hub users from waking up the Fire TV Stick 4K Max from sleep.

Rest assured, when they do, we will let you know make sure you keep checking this space for updates.
