MLB The Show 21 Showdown voucher issue (unable to exchange) gets acknowledged

If you are into baseball video games, you must have heard of MLB The Show 21. Developed by San Diego Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the title is based on the popular Major League Baseball.

While the franchise has been PlayStation exclusive for years now, MLB The Show 21 is the first game to be released for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

The game has been praised by both players and critiques alike with it becoming the best-selling video game on PlayStation and Xbox in April of 2021. As of July 2021, it had more than 4 million players.

That being said, MLB The Show 21 players are now reporting that they are unable to exchange the Showdown voucher.

Many are frustrated since they have already completed the 11th inning showdown but when they try to redeem the voucher, the game shows an error message saying ‘you don’t have any of the required items to exchange’.

Yeah just happened to me. I was certainly confused when I went to redeem for XP, not sure if there’s anything I can do to fix it. Hesitant to run it again to see if that’s just the way it is or if it was a one time thing.

Only SDS is so incompetent they roll out a showdown without actually thinking to check if you can redeem the voucher… Can’t wait until they lose their licensing. So many year over year problems that never get fixed.. i.e freeze offs, broken animations, and illogical ai.

Thankfully, MLB The Show developers have commented on the bug and said that they are aware and currently working to fix the glitch preventing players from redeeming the Showdown Voucher.

We are aware of the Showdown voucher issue. We are working to fix the issue that is preventing players from exchanging them. You can still complete the 11th Inning Showdown and collect vouchers. Thank you for the reports.

Moreover, they said that MLB The Show 21 will undergo maintenance scheduled at 4 AM Pacific Time on January 15 to fix the Showdown Voucher issue.
