In 2017, Apple jumped in on the smart home niche and introduced their first-ever smart speaker called HomePod. However, it was released in February of 2018.

That being said, Apple has released several iterations of the HomePod with the latest one being the HomePod Mini. But many users are now saying that their HomePod is getting dumber thanks to the iOS 15 update.

Some have even complained about popping noises coming out of their HomePod following which their devices go quiet.

Now, HomePod owners are reporting that they are getting an error when trying to login into the Home app. Many said that they entered their they are getting a ‘Your Apple ID or Password is incorrect’ message.

Reports suggest that the issue surfaced after users upgraded to iOS 15.2. Users said they tried logging in a few times, but the error pops up randomly.

Anyone getting “your Apple ID or Password is incorrect” errors after upgrading to 15.2? I went into the Home app after upgrading and saw this error in the app for all of my HomePods. I re-entered the password and a few minutes later the error appeared again. I tried signing out and signing back in and same thing happened. I tried restarting – no change. If I don’t hear anything better, my next step will be a full reset later today. Anyone else running into this?

15.2 Apple login bug
“Your Apple ID or password is incorrect. Try again.” This error Is now showing up after updating to 15.2. Have no idea what to do. There is no way to change any login information in HomePod.
Edit: This is still ongoing. Now its moving across all 3 HopePods randomly. Now I see an option if I scroll down to “enter password”, which slides up a screen to type password. But message still persists. Next time you try to “enter password” it disappears but error message reappears. Also a Circle with the word Account is shown on top of the Home tab.

Unfortunately, resetting HomePod and reinstalling the Home app does not solve the problem. HomePod owners are frustrated by the issue and are wondering what they can do to fix it.

However, some users have shared some workarounds that might help fix the HomePod login error. The first one involves logging in to the Apple Music app.

Others say that the problem is caused because the iOS 15.2 update messed up location prompts for some. Some users say that re-enabling location services fixed the issue for them.
