Until the release of Riders Republic in October of 2021, Steep was the go-to adventure sports game for many. But the latest by Ubisoft lets players choose between wingsuit flying, snowboarding, skiing, and mountain biking.

However, the game seems to be following in the footsteps of Far Cry 6 with users reporting several issues such as FPS drops on PS5 and Ridge Bowl not working.

As it turns out, Riders Republic players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5) another issue that is causing the game to crash with some saying they experience massive frame drops whenever players encounter the yellow triangle markers at Riders Ridge.

In case you don’t know, the Riders Ridge is located in the Sequoia region and is the main hub in the game. You can access it anytime from the world map after collecting 11 stars.

Here players can choose from various activities such as Multiplayer, Sponsor management, and The Shop amongst many more.

Many say that the yellow markers are really unpleasant to look at and are wondering why so many of them appear at Riders Ridge in the first place. You can see for yourself how it looks like in the image below.

@UbisoftSupport Experiencing huge issues with #RidersRepublic. First had all the golden gems on the map, causing incredible lag and screen tearing. Game crashed multiple times on Xbox Series X.

Does anybody have any effing clue what I logged into today? Thousands of glowing pyramids spammed in riders ridge basically blinding the screen. I can pass through them, there’s no sound or effect that says I collected something but they disappear and create a trail where I run through. Whenever I turn around, behind me hundreds spawn instantly.

Some players say that the issue is not limited to Riders Ridge but the yellow markers are also appearing at mass races and tricks academy practice as well.

Thankfully, it looks like Ubisoft is already aware of the issue with Ubisoft Support saying it is currently under investigation. They also shared a temporary workaround that involves turning off crossplay.

Hey @atnelsonv, sorry to hear this! We’re aware of these issues with Riders Republic today. Some players have reported that turning off cross-play works as a temporary workaround. Can you please let us know your Ubisoft username, as well?

Since there is no ETA on when the Riders Republic yellow marker issue will be fixed, it is unclear how long players will have to wait before the developers’ release patch fixing the same.

Nevertheless, we will be keeping an eye out for more information and let you know once it is patched so stay tuned for updates.
