Escape from Tarkov is one of the most popular realistic online multiplayer FPS games to come out in the last few years. Developed and published by BattleState Games, it is currently in closed beta for the last 5 years.

Running on the Unity engine, the game is set in a place where a war is ongoing between two private militaries called USEC and BEAR.

If your character dies, you will lose all the loot you collected except for a few items. But since the game is still in beta, a handful of bugs and issues such as the one where they lose fence rep for killing scavs.

That being said, BattleState Games recently added a VOIP feature that allows players to talk to each other. But as it turns out, Escape from Tarkov hackers are making use of the newly introduced VOIP function to threaten others to drop their loot.

Some say that hackers are rampant in the game and openly threaten others over VOIP that they will kill them if they don’t surrender everything they have.

It’s unbelievable that cheating is still as prevalent as it was when the game first launched and goes to show you the mindset that the development team has. As far as I’m aware they are very possibly in on the RMT scene that seems to be the fuel source for the rampant cheating going on, why else would they not take more serious measures to stop cheating otherwise? This isn’t Warzone where you don’t lose anything when you die, you lose everything on you which has a massive impact on your progress within the game. I just loaded into a night time shoreline raid with my last 200k roubles spent to kit my guy up and get one tapped a minute into the match by a cheater who called my name out and told me to drop everything or die.

Like the title says, my friend already reported him, I was “lucky” he didn’t shoot me at all while I escaped through gate 3. He called us by our PMC’s name and made fun of us, claiming he was gonna one tap us (which he did, head-eyed my boi in a single tap). My friend plays with the EU server so we jumped on his server to do the next run and after some time we got to a fight in offices with some guys that we kill but amdist all the fighting we both get made by the same hacker that killed my friend on last raid even though we switched servers from 2 specific server in US to 2 specific servers in EU. Is there anything we can do against that? This is infuriating but also creepy as hell.

While cheating was already rampant in Escape from Tarkov, players say that the introduction of VOIP has helped them see how bad the situation is.

Players are demanding that BattleState Games take strict actions against those using ESP, wallhacks, and aimbots and implement a more effective anti-cheat system.

Many say that the addition of a kill-cam replay feature would enable them to see who’s hacking so they can easily report them.

We hope Escape from Tarkov developers listens to the player base and improve the state of the game gets better in the near future.
