New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 08, 2022) follows:

Released in 2020, Call of Duty Warzone is the first free-to-play Battle Royale title in the decades-old series. But ever since its launch, the game has been plagued by several bugs and glitches.

Developed by Raven Software and published by Activision, it is a part of 2019’s COD Modern Warfare. But unlike other Battle Royale titles most of which are usually capped at 100 players, Warzone allows up to 150 players.

But ever since its release, players have complained about several bugs and issues that ruin the gameplay experience for many. And as if bugs weren’t enough, players have often complained about certain weapons dominating the meta.

According to recent reports from Warzone players, the Akimbo Double Barrel shotgun is insanely overpowered.

The reason behind the gun being so overpowered seems to be its low reload time and the ability to kill players pretty quickly.

So I want to say that I love shotguns being viable to start with. I think the revolving shotgun is in an almost perfect spot, with a bit of precision and control giving it a dominant force.
However, the akimbo are obviously too good. Sure there’s a lot of other stuff to fix, but they are gonna need a tweak. I’d prefer they not be nerfed into unusable(prob gonna happen) but if you could change something on them, what would it be? Personally I think the reload speed should be dumpstered.

So I think we’re all hoping for a good shotgun nerf tomorrow, hopefully both the revolving fire shotgun and the double barrel akimbo. I currently have bren stg mp40 maxed and the the m1912, kar98 and Owen gun in okay places level wise. Just wondering what the community think could be worth grinding a bit on this evening and over the next week or so? (also what changes are you hoping for?) Im hoping for a slight bren nerf (the second barrel only really)

Thankfully, Warzone developer Raven Software has commented on Akimbo shotgun being overpowered and said that they will be nerfing it in the coming days.

We’re aware of the concerns regarding the Akimbo Double Barrel Shotgun (VG). An adjustment is coming in the near future. Stay tuned.

We hope Warzone developers soon nerf the Akimbo shotgun and make it balanced so it doesn’t vanish from the meta entirely. When they make changes, we will let you know so stay tuned for updates.
