Twitch is a live video streaming platform that is popular for its gaming, Just Chatting and IRL content.

It allows gamers to play and commentate on their favorite gaming titles while streaming to millions worldwide. However, all of this becomes pointless if users can’t access their accounts.

Twitch users unable to login

A number of Twitch users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are reporting an issue where they are unable to log into their accounts through certain browsers.

Yo @TwitchSupport I can’t log in, I just get “error occurred, try again”. I’ve tried on multiple browsers. Can’t sign up for a new account either . I get the same error message

I was logged into my account, I Couldn’t buy bits, Subscribe, Cancel a Sub. I logged out, and tried to log back in and started getting this message. Tried resetting my password a couple times.

It seems that whenever users try logging into their account, an error message that says ‘Something went wrong. Please try again’ pops up.

Those affected have tried updating the browser and clearing all the cookies but to no avail. Even disabling extensions from the browser or changing passwords doesn’t seem to fix the problem.

Owing to the issue, users are now unable to watch their favorite content, redeem channel points during a stream, add or remove moderators, and so on.

Official acknowledgment and potential workaround

Fortunately, Twitch support has acknowledged the issue where users are unable to login and said that the team is working on a fix.

Since there’s no ETA on a fix, affected users can try to log into their accounts via Microsoft Edge for a potential fix.

Another workaround involves opening an incognito tab and then accessing Twitch accounts.

hey @TwitchSupport i can’t log into my account even after a password change on my browser but if i go incognito i can log in just fine what do i do in order to log into my reg browser?

If the above-mentioned workarounds don’t work, users can try to log into their accounts through the Twitch mobile app.

I can however still log in on mobile, just not PC

We hope that the Twitch login issues get resolved soon so that users can access their accounts without any errors.

03:07 pm (IST): Twitch Support has now suggested some troubleshooting steps to fix the login issue. Moreover, they’ve also provided some reasons why this issue is happening.

01:48 pm (IST): One of our readers has suggested a workaround that might help you resolve this issue. You can check it out below.

OK GUYS – I solved my issue. Myself. for me it was AVG Anti-Track that was preventing me from logging in on Chrome. I happened to disable it today b/c it was dragging my stream and BOOM I could suddenly sign in on chrome. If you have AVG Anti Track, try disabling!

Update 3 (Jan. 4, 2023)

12:31 pm (IST): Twitch was recently facing an outage that wasn’t letting users log in and they were getting ‘Something went wrong’ error. However, this outage appears to have been fixed now.
