[Updated] Demon Slayer bug where players can't play online on Xbox as game throws 'A Network Error Occurred' message under investigation
Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 04, 2021) follows:
If you are an anime fan, you must be aware of the popular series, Demon Slayer. The anime even has a video game that was released on October 15 this year.
Developed by Cyberconnect2 and published by Sega, it is a 3D game based on Unreal Engine 4. It follows the story of the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, who joins the Demon Slayer Corp and wants to save his younger sister Nezuko.
Apart from the single-story mode, the game also features a versus mode where players can fight against each other in a team of two. Surprisingly, unlike recent multiplayer games, it supports both local and online multiplayer.
Having said that, many Demon Slayer players are now reporting that they are unable to play online on Xbox. Many say that the game shows an ‘A Network Error Occurred’ message while others say they are stuck in a loop of selecting their profile.
This is really frustrating for those who want to play online ranked and custom matches. Reinstalling the game, restarting, and verifying game files don’t seem to help either.
On Xbox, I’m trying to play online with friends on the new demon Slayer game. But everytime we try we get the option to select a profile. When we select our normal accounts it makes us select again and again, we can’t even exit out to the main menu. Does anybody have a fix for this?
@demonslayer_hc is there a fix for the network error? i’ve checked my multiplayer connection and internet connection multiple times and nothing works
@demonslayer_hc got the update for Xbox version today and multiplayer still not working. Now getting network error instead of kept asking me to sign in. Noticed lot of people having same problem with Xbox series x.
Thankfully, it looks like Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles developers are aware of the issue and said they were working with the Xbox team to fix it. However, they did not share any ETA on when the issue will be fixed.
We’re aware of this and have been investigating the issue with Xbox since Monday morning. To check, do you have multiple accounts that may be signed in?
Until then, players won’t be able to rank up or play against their friends. If and when Demon Slayer developers fix issues with the online mode, we will keep an eye on the matter and update this article with new information so stay tuned.
