New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 30, 2021) follows:

Escape From Tarkov is one of the most interesting FPS games out there due to the approach of its gameplay with touches of RPG, MMO and deep narrative.

However, in the last few weeks, its players haven’t had the best possible experience. In fact, they have been reporting various bugs and glitches that have negatively affected their gaming experience.

One of the problems that has been out there longer than it should be is related with its performance. Apparently, Escape From Tarkov has been suffering from an extremely low fps issue for a long time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

An extremely low fps issue in Escape From Tarkov is ruining the experience

According to multiple reports, the game has serious optimization problems. Players of Escape From Tarkov are facing extremely low fps during their games.

So I have recently gotten Tarkov and Im having some fps problems.

I have a pretty nice pc with a Ryzen 7 3700x and Rtx 2060 and Im guessing i should get over 60 fps but its almost like im capped at 6o fps because i have yet to get over 60fps on any map.

my settings are on the lowest settings and are capped at 144 fps so I am not sure whats going on, if i could get some help thatd be nice

The performance problem occurs even in hardware configurations that should be sufficient to obtain a much higher fps rate. But, the game seems to always be ‘limited’.

pls reddit this is my last resort ive spent at least 100 of my 300 hours in game trying to be stable without drops below 60 fps. Im running an i7 7700k overclocked to 4.6ghz, a gtx 980 and 16 gigs of DDR4. Ive tried numerous different settings combinations within the game and in nvidia control panel. I run from about 50-70 fps with dips to 45 in certain spots of different maps. Im really at my last end and am pretty much just accepting the game is unoptimized.

Performance issues have been around for a long time

As mentioned at the beginning, this problem is not exactly new. For example, there are related reports that were published about 9 months ago. And, as yet, the issues persist.
