[Update: Gambit mode issue] Destiny 2 crashing during The Cabal Boss encounter acknowledged; game lagging on PC under investigation too

Recently, Destiny 2 received the Dares of Eternity update with a lot of new content. As part of the Bungie’s 30th Anniversary celebration, all players can enjoy this update.

But, it seems that there are still things to polish to achieve a good experience during the new quests. Many Destiny 2 players report a constant crashing issue in certain situations (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

More specifically, in most cases, Destiny 2 is reportedly crashing during The Cabal Boss fight. Also, although most of the reports come from console gamers, PC gamers also suffer from crashing.

Most reports match certain common conditions for the problem to appear. The crashing issue in Destiny 2 usually occurs during The Cabal Boss encounter.

Dares of eternity crashing

In the cabal final boss fight, my game crashed 3 times, and the same for my friends.

I think there is a problem there, even the game sometimes makes me join at that specific location, at the end of the mission, which makes me thinks it crashed for other people there too

Anyone faced this?

The game doesn’t crash at all in any other place, only on this encounter sometimes

However, there are some cases where the game crashes also during the match against Vex boss.

Game crashes in boss fights (DoE)

Hello. Yesterday my game crashed allways during the cabal boss fight. I unplugged my console, resettet the MAC adress and did an update on my Xbox. After 1 hour unplugged, i plugged back in, i went in DoE and slaughtered the cabal boss. Today i got the same crash, after 1 minute in the boss room, just that it is vex and not cabal. Anybody else? Something similar at least?

Currently, the Bungie team is already aware of the Destiny 2 crashing issues during The Cabal Boss fight after Dares of Eternity update, and they reflect this on their support website.

However, there is still no mention of the crashing that some suffer during the encounter against Vex.

On the other hand, Bungie is also aware of an increase in performance problems for Destiny 2 on PC. Players on that platform are also suffering from crashing and other issues after the latest update.

We are investigating an increase in crashes on PC.

We are investigating reports of issues related to low performance on PCs .

Players running Destiny with an integrated graphics card may encounter gameplay performance issues if the integrated graphics card does not meet the minimum required PC specs

04:33 pm (IST): Fresh reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) indicate that the game is crashing during various situations in Gambit mode.

Luckily, it appears that Bungie is already aware and is working on a fix for the problem. Unfortunately, there’s no ETA for a resolution.

The community manager has asked players to submit a few details to help the team squash the bug(s) that result in the game crashing.
