New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…

Original story (published on April 26, 2021) follows:

Hulu subscribers have been facing several issues and the video on demand service provider is trying to fix them.

Among them, the channel temporarily unavailable, Error code: P-DEV318, and loud commercials issues.

Now, subscribers are reporting about a new problem where they are unable to watch programs from where they left off.

As per recent reports, the Hulu app rewinds and even restarts programs when users play them after pausing for sometime.

For some Hulu users, programs start from the beginning when they resume after pausing them and for others, the content simply rewinds for seconds and even minutes.

Everytime I pause something on Hulu on firestick it goes back a few minutes in the show I’m watching for some reason. Does anyone else have this issue or not?

hulu hasn’t fixed the Mayans episode yet and anytime i pause it on the spectrum app it goes back to when i was like 15 min in

Also, Hulu has not yet acknowledged this as a widespread issue and is simply providing generic troubleshooting to users.

Moreover, it is unclear whether users are able to resolve the problem after troubleshooting or a fix is required on a larger scale.

Issues like this can be quite annoying especially when you are paying for a service. Subscribers usually expect a smooth experience but that does not appear to be the case with Hulu.

While the service provider is trying to fix existing issues, it is not a good sign that new issues like this one keep popping up.

So, whether or not the said issue indeed requires a wider acknowledgement or fix is anybody’s guess.

Hopefully, Hulu addresses all these issues soon as they have been causing inconveniences to subscribers for quite sometime now.

In the meantime, if you are also facing the said issue, feel free to drop a comment below.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.

Update 1 (June 21)

IST 07:30 pm: It seems Hulu is finally working to fix the almost two months old issue where the app rewinds programs/content when users play them back after pausing for a while. However, there is still no ETA for a fix.

Sorry about that! It sounds like you’re running into an issue our teams are aware of and looking into. While we don’t have an ETA on a fix at the moment, we appreciate your patience in the interim. If we can assist with anything else for now, please let us know!

Update 2 (July 28)

IST 10:00 am: It seems users are still experiencing the issue where the programs rewind when they are played after pausing for some time. Also, Hulu is still investigating the problem.

Update 3 (December 17)

IST 05:31 pm: Some users are still reporting the issue where the program automatically rewinds to previous episodes when users pause it for some time.

And yet again, Hulu acknowledged the issue saying that they are aware of this glitch and are working to fix it. So, it seems that this issue still persists and there is no permanent fix for it yet.
