If you are into MMORPGs, then Final Fantasy XIV might catch your attention. Developed by Square Enix Business and Division 5, the game was released back in August of 2013. Taking place in the fictional world of Eorzea, the player is to deter the invasion by the Garlean Empire.

And as is the case with several online multiplayer games, Final Fantasy XIV players are susceptible to bugs and glitches. That being said, FFXIV players recently reported several technical issues.

Login queues/congestion

Many Final Fantasy XIV players report they are unable to log in to the game with the game showing a message that says the world is currently full.

As it turns out, the developers are currently preventing trial accounts from playing the game. You can see the message the game shows in the image below.

I can’t login, but I think it’s because my account is tied to an old PS4 that I don’t have anymore. So I haven’t been able to play for a long time.

Well the login servers are back up, but of course I can’t play tonight. Was almost in and now the queue’s at 3k, which means several hours that I don’t have. Thanks alot, SE.

The developers said they will be granting additional 14 days of game time because of these congestion and login issues.

We are aware that the long waiting times to log into the game are preventing players from playing, and for this, we sincerely apologize. In response to this, we recently granted 7 days of game time, but now we will also be granting an additional 14 days. This will apply to all players (including those with multiple accounts) who own the full version of the game and have an active subscription as of Tuesday, December 21, at 12:00 a.m. (PST), which is the scheduled release date for Patch 6.01. Further details regarding eligibility will be announced separately.

Fix incoming for Error 2002

FFXIV players are also reporting that they are getting Error 2002 after hours of waiting to get into the game. This is a really frustrating issue since players are pushed to the end of the queue because of the error.

i got this after getting 2002’d out of a 2 hour queue. :’)

Same I don’t mind wating my turn to log on but to get 2002 error after 2 hrs and going to back of the line is a horrible feeling.

And apart from error 2002, players are also encountering other errors such as error 5003, 3001, 5005,90002 and 5006.

Yup waited 2 hrs for a Q then got hit with error 5003, 110 people away from getting in. Now I keep getting an error when logging in.

I just now got a 90002 and then a 5003 upon immediately trying to log back in. My partner sitting in the same room as me did not get the 90002.

Thankfully, the FFXIV developers seem to have found out the root cause of these technical issues and said a fix will be deployed in the upcoming patch.

Temporary suspension of sales

As it turns out, the developers have suspended the sales of Final Fantasy XIV Starter Edition and Complete Edition along with new advertisements.

However, it looks like Expansion and Collector’s Edition digital upgrade sales will still be available to existing players. Here is what they have to say.

New Logical Data Center and Worlds

After experiencing server bottlenecks because of a sudden increase in new players, it looks like Final Fantasy XIV will be adding new logical data centers in every region, with special plans for North America and Europe.

Update Patch 6.05 likely to release timely

Last but not least, it looks like Patch 6.05 will fix several issues and might be released on time.

Due to the high levels of congestion, we are aware that there has been a lot of discussion in the community about the release of Pandæmonium: Asphodelos (Savage) in Patch 6.05, scheduled for Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Regarding this, as long as there are no major issues, we plan to release the patch as scheduled. We understand that there are concerns about World First races and first week progression, but Patch 6.05 will add a number of new elements, such as the addition of a new Allagan tomestone, new crafting recipes, as well as the new treasure hunt dungeon, the Excitatron 6000.

As always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and update this article as and when FFXIV developers fix the technical issues, so make sure you stay tuned.
