New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 27, 2021) follows:

This year, EA added another game to the Battlefield series. Released on November 19 this year, Battlefield 2042 is undoubtedly one of the best-looking games available right now.

While Dice stuck to the core chaotic gunfights that define the game, the developers seemed open to new ideas and brought in several new features that enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Naturally, reviewers appreciated the overall game design and newly added mechanics with some even calling it their favorite games in the entire series, there was one thing they missed on. Ever since the game’s pre-release, players had been complaining of several bugs and glitches.

Many thought that EA and Dice would fix it before the global launch, but as it turns out, they were not able to do so. Bugs kept popping up, one after another, with many wondering how the bugs made their way to the final version.

Soon after its launch, players complained of various issues such as poor hitreg and players being unable to spawn or revive amongst many more. But the problem was not limited to bugs and glitches.

Some said that the in-game weapon balance was busted too. Many were tired of the NWT-50 sniper rifle being more powerful than the M5 recoilless, a weapon that is exclusively designed to penetrate tanks.

With nowhere to express their frustration, many fanboys turned to Steam and within a week, Battlefield 2042 earned the title of being one of the worst-rated games. At the time of writing, the game has close to 65,000 reviews on Steam, of which more than 44,000 are negative.

As it turns out, the most anticipated game of the year is following in the footsteps of Cyberpunk 2077 and becoming one of the most hated games in the entire franchise.

This game is meant to sell, not play. They invested all of their efforts into things like pointless weather effects and completely unnecessary scale so they could use them as selling points instead of investing in gameplay. And because of that ridiculous scale, they decided to throw in as many vehicle as possible without thinking of balancing them, Again to use the spectacle as a selling point. They swapped classes, a battlefield staple, for specialists because they would be easier to monetize. They got rid of so many great details and gameplay additions from old battlefields, so they could focus on making the game more sellable, not playable. They practically got rid of all sense of community by getting rid of voip, scoreboards, clans, and all chat.

First up. Been part of the Battlefield community since BF2, BF2142, BF3, BF4 & BFV. I’ve watched this franchise grow and fell hard during BFV but then made it up for the issues by giving their all through the Pacific Storm update… before getting sent to the firing line for the development of BF2042. A let down for me. I don’t know what to feel when i play this game. I know its Battlefield, but it feels “off”. Movement feels COD-ish, like its snappy and fast, in an odd way. Its not as smooth as it was in BFV. Hell, BFV actually polished up movements and it felt realistic for me, its immersive.
