COD: Vanguard is the latest version of the successful Call of Duty saga. As usually happens every year, these games gather millions of players worldwide.
However, Call of Duty: Vanguard players report a server down issue that has prevented them from enjoying the game for a while (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
Call of Duty: Vanguard server down or not working
According to multiple player reports from Call of Duty (COD): Vanguard, the server is currently down. This can manifest itself in a number of ways.
For example, players who were not in the game at the time of the crash cannot access the game. All they get is an error message about ‘corrupted save data’.
Can’t Start PS5 Version of Game After Just Buying it.
Just bought the game digitally from the PS store a few hours ago. Downloaded and installed right away with no issues. Was able to launch the app but can’t get past the main menu without an error about corrupted save data coming up and won’t let me continue.
After clearing the save data, clearing more space on the console storage, redownloading the app multiple times, and eventually rebuilding my system database, I still have the same issue in the same place.

On the other hand, players who were in-game during the server crash can no longer find matches. Also, the connection ping reportedly increases a lot.
Matchmaking Ping?
I’m on Xbox series X. Been playing the last 2-3 hours and now I can’t get into a match. Keeps increasing the ping up to 200 ms and still doesn’t find a match. Also it keeps telling me to buy the game while in the lobby lol.

Is the game dead already?

COD: Vanguard servers were already down today on PS5
This actual crash in the servers is being suffered by all the players on all platforms. However, during the day, the game’s servers already had problems with certain platforms in particular.
A few hours ago, the developers were working on solving an issue that was not allowing players on PS5 to access the game after preloading the update. But now, the server crash is global.
At the moment, there is no official statement from the developers on this problem. Once new related information emerges, we will update this article.
