Ubisoft’s six-year-old Rainbow Six Siege is still one of the most played on Steam. Thanks to the huge player base, the tactical first-person shooting game is updated quite often.

However, the title has had several technical issues over the years, most of which are quickly fixed because of the competitive nature of the game. Nonetheless, some bugs and glitches do make their way past developers at times.

Elite Uniforms bug

Unsurprisingly, after a recent update, players are reporting a bunch of issues with the game, the first of it being a bug with the Elite uniforms. According to recent reports (1,2,3,4,5), players say whenever they change uniforms for elite skins, the game changes it randomly.

Moreover, the gadget skins do not seem to be showing up as well. This is really frustrating for those who bought the skins with real currency since they are unable to use them.

I noticed that when I equipped my skins in the lobby they don’t go into the game 100 percent. What I mean by this is that for Kapkan I have the full Doctor’s Curse Outfit and Headgear, but when I turn the elite animation on along with the elite operator card, it still shows me only wearing the full elite skin in actual games, or just the headgear or outfit. I’m assuming this is a bug and I really want it to be fixed because I’m very much disappointed in Elite customization right now.

@UbisoftSupport idk if this is part of Elite 2.0 for Rainbow Six: High Calibre, but whenever I close out the game and relaunch, the operators elite Uniform is automatically put on, overriding the uniform I chose. The headgear doesn’t change. Platform is Xbox Series S

Fortunately, Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue and said they are investigating it. However, there is no ETA for the fix.

Thanks for getting that to us. This is something that the team is now investigating. If any additional information becomes available, it will be posted to the game’s official forums.(Source)

Mic or push to talk no longer turning on/off

The second issue affects one of the core elements of the gameplay, which is communication. R6 is a game where coordination is everything. Having said that, Rainbow Six Siege players are saying that they are unable to turn on/off the mic with the game sometimes turning voice chat on its own.

For some, the mic stays on when players use the push to talk button while for others they cannot turn it on at all. This is a really serious issue for those who play the game professionally.

So before this update, it would occasionally get stuck every time I tried to talk in-game, now it gets stuck every time after this update and I can’t turn it off unless I disable it in the settings and set it back to push to talk. Any advice to fix?

The game randomly turns off my ability to voice chat. Need help
For some reason game just straight up cuts my ability to speak like I turned the VC off while I didn’t do anything. It happends randomly. (I tested mic in discord and its working so it must be the game)

It seems Ubisoft Support is already aware of Rainbow Six Siege mic and push to talk bugs. Again, there is no ETA for the fix.

Hey there, Slink! We are aware of this and are looking into this. Could you provide us with a video showing your settings as well as your push to talk not working in game?

Fortunately, there is a workaround that seems to be doing the trick. Some say pressing alt+tab fixes the issue until they toggle push to talk again.

Yes it fix it until you press the push to talk button again^^ mmh its weird, on that screenshot you can see its not assigned but when i press it it’s still working, and i can change it to another button

Delay in sound

Last but not the least, many say that the sound is delayed and is weird after the latest update. When it comes to Rainbow Six Siege, audio is as important as aim. Many are frustrated since they are unable to accurately know the position of their enemies.

Some say that the directional audio is messed up while others say certain actions such as crouching as completely silent.

This started since the new season started. I can possible get a video. I played with my friends and they all agree it sounds like the sound is weird (Faded and slightly behind Mostly when spectating.)

@UbisoftSupport I am having sound problems with rainbow 6. when moving and even listening to team mates move it sounds like the sound is delayed and is .5 seconds behind so it sounds like the movement is behind the player model.

It seems Ubisoft Support has passed the information provided by a player to the concerned team. Once again, they did not share any ETA on a fix.

Thanks! We are going to be passing this information on to the investigating team. If we have any updates, they will be posted here or the games official forum. >>

As always, we will keep an eye out on Rainbow Six Siege sound, mic, and elite uniform bugs and update this article once Ubisoft fixes them.
