[Updated] Jurassic World Evolution 2 Cryo digsite & Dinos starving to death issues gets acknowledged

Jurassic World Evolution is the second installment in the park building simulation video game series. Developed and published by Frontier Developments, it was released on November 9 this year.

The game requires players to build their own Jurassic theme parks and must capture and take care of different types of dinosaurs. This time, the developers have listened to user demands and finally added both pterosaurs as well as marine reptiles.

However, the game has had a rough start with users reporting several bugs and issues that ruined the overall experience. Some recently reported bugs include the dinos getting stuck mid-air and an issue with HDR on the Xbox.

With that being said, it looks like a bunch of issues have now surfaced. Many Jurassic World Evolution 2 players are reporting that the Cryo Digsite is missing. Players are confused as to why they cannot find any digsite on the world map.

I know the Cryolophosaurus is from Antarctica, yet there’s no Antarctica on the map. However, in NW USA challenge mode, you can research the Cryo and it says you can unlock the Hanson Formation, but it never shows up on the map. The only way, I think, to unlock the Cryo is by picking it up through the campaign. Oversight? Bug?

Fortunately, it looks like Jurassic World Evolution 2 developers seem to be aware of the issue and said that it is under investigation.

As it turns out, many Jurassic World Evolution 2 players say that their dinos are starving to death. The issue seems to be mostly affecting carnivores. Many are frustrated since their dinos refuse to eat and are dying randomly even with food in front of them.

Hi all, I am stuck and would love to hear if anyone has had this issue. My carnivores keep starving to death. They fail their hunts repeatedly on both goats and other dinosaurs. They run after the prey but then they do this little hiss thing and it says “hunt failed”. Sometimes they get stuck in “Socialising” and just stand there till they die. I can’t dart gun them when this happens. Even if I put down meat they just starve. What am I doing wrong??

In my Jurassic World chaos theory my indominus is stuck in an animation and is starving to death. Tried to transport it but nothing changes, this also happend to my raptors in the jp chaos theory. I can’t sell the indominus and making another is too expensive, please help me.

Once again, the developers reached out and said that they are aware of the dinos starving to death issue and are currently investigating the issue. However, they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.

06:13 pm (IST): Jurassic World Evolution 2 — via Twitter — confirmed that an update with many bug fixes and quality of life tweaks will go live on December 9. But there’s still no guarantee whether the Cryo digsite and Dinos starving to death issues will be resolved.

05:47 pm (IST): Jurassic World Evolution 2 support on Twitter has provided a potential workaround for this issue. Moreover, the team is currently investigating it.

Workaround:

Hi there! We’re aware of this issue and the team is looking into it. Tranquilising and moving your dinosaurs will sometimes help break them out of them freezing.

If it’s an issue with refilling feeders, we recommend replacing your Hatcheries and reassigning your Rangers. (Source)
