Original story (published on November 22, 2021) follows:

While there are a plethora of streaming services in the world, one of the best media streaming services that offer their own devices is Roku. In the last few years, many who wanted to ditch traditional cable TV made switched to Roku.

Last year, the company surpassed the 100 million users mark. While the service has several channels available, NBC being one of the most-watched channels on the platform.

NBC

NBC Roku app low volume

With that being said, NBC Roku app users say that the volume is pretty low compared to other channels. Users say they tried watching the same show on other streaming services like Peacock and the volume is fine, while others disagree.

This has really frustrated those affected by the bug since some of them cannot hear the audio clearly while others say that it gets too loud when they switch to other channels since they have to increase the volume drastically.

Restarting and resetting devices do not seem to work either. Moreover, the issue seems to be affecting multiple Roku devices with some saying the audio not in sync for them.

Why oh why can the @NBCNews app on @Roku @RokuSupport not suck?
Volume is totally off — its a whisper, and then turned up to 1000 not even syncing. Happens on all my TVs with the local Balt NBC-11 station. Why did you get rid of
@nbcwashington on my app? #roku #nbc #streaming

Hisense ROKU TV purchased a month ago. Downloaded 50 apps so far via my spectrum acct and all is good except the NBC app showing live TV. Anything I watch needs me to adjust the TV volume 100% higher versus all other apps and live TV. Can anyone fix the app so the volume is consistent with all other platforms? Frustrating.

While NBC or Roku yet to acknowledge the issue, users can try using the Volume Levelling option on their devices to see if it fixes the issue.

YouTube TV Freezing after Roku OS update

Apart from the aforementioned issue, Roku users are complaining that the YouTube TV is freezing for them after the latest Roku OS update. Generic resolutions such as restarting and resetting do not seem to work either.

We started having this same issue. Deleted the YouTube app which no longer appears for download in Roku’s app search so went the long way around through YouTube app, it worked for a bit but this morning it froze up there too. We also had it freeze on our Hisense TV. All Roku’s I have HD and 4k sticks are doing the same thing. They play for 3 min and freeze.

Same exact issue – freezes up every 3 or 4 mins constantly. Tried all kinds of troubleshooting. Deleted the YouTubeTV app to reinstall it, only to discover its no longer available for download, even though online it’s stated it’s supposed to be available until December 9th. Tried accessing YouTubeTV via the regular YouTube app on Roku, and same – freezes up every 3 or 4 mins.

Fortunately, it seems like TeamYouTube is already aware of the issue and said it is currently being investigated. However, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

Sorry for the trouble – we’ve seen similar reports about the freezing issue on the YouTube TV app, and our team is currently looking into it. Appreciate your patience in the meantime.
