New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 20, 2021) follows:

Hunt Showdown is a popular PvP + PvE FPS developed by Crytek. The game is set in a fictional reality from the early 19th century where supernatural creatures roam freely.

Players must form teams to hunt down monsters or face other players. But, Hunt Showdown would be presenting some issues in the last few weeks.

User reports mainly point to two bugs: invisible walls and a reconnect issue. These would have become more apparent after Hunt Showdown v1.7 update.

Hunt Showdown invisible wall glitch is breaking the matches

The reported invisible wall glitch has the potential to break the matches. So, basically, on certain occasions, the walls of buildings are transparent or translucent.

This bug can be easily exploited for those who learn how to make it happen, because the player can see if there are enemies inside buildings and attack from a distance (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

It seems that this bug is not exactly new. Some users report that it was already present some time ago, and that it would have even received a fix. However, the problem continues to occur.

One of the things Crytek did a while back was basically not loading in walls at a certain distance. Very quickly got exploited. Got fixed after a couple of weeks, but was a very sniper filled time with constant 200m+ wallbangs. Still happens from time to time too.

A member of the Crytek team confirmed that the company is already aware of the bug. Currently, it is under investigation, with no estimated date for the arrival of the fix.

There is also a reportedly reconnect issue

The other issue reported by Hunt Showdown players is related to the reconnect feature. Apparently, some can’t reconnect to a match, and all they get is an infinite loading screen (1, 2, 3, 4).

I just had this happen. Alt-F4ed out of the match and tried to reconnect, but the game gave me an infinite loading screen. Verified files, tried again, infinite loading screen. I then restarted my computer and tried again, and it sort of loaded up, but gave me this screen, and I couldn’t take any actions or even open the escape menu, so I had to alt-f4 again.

Meanwhile, some reports suggest that the reconnect feature works erratically:

My duo disconnected and joined back several minutes later after a fuse blew in her house. Seems like people are seeing mixed results.

At the moment, there is no official statement from Crytek related to the reconnect issue. So, it is not yet known if they are aware, or if they are already working on solving it.

In the coming days, if there is any new development in this regard, we will update this article. So, stay tuned with us.
