[Updated] EA acknowledges issue where Battlefield 2042 players are unable to respawn or revive

Battlefield 2042 is Electronic Arts’ latest take on first-person shooting multiplayer games. Developed by DICE and published by EA, the title has ditched the single-player campaign in favor of multiplayer gameplay.

Set to be released on November 19, many have already purchased the first and only multiplayer version of Battlefield. Both gamers and critiques have praised it for its astonishing graphics but the game still suffers from technical difficulties.

Many are already fed up with the bugs and issues that ruin the gameplay experience. Some recent examples of the same include the crashing issues on Xbox and PlayStation and the controller not working on the PC.

And as if they weren’t enough, Battlefield 2042 players recently discovered (1,2,3,4,5) that they were unable to revive their teammates and respawn in-game after being downed. Many say their character is stuck in the downed state with players lying on the ground with no option to respawn either.

Also, the revive timer is stuck at zero seconds which means that the game is unaware that the character is down. The only way to continue playing the game is to leave the match and rejoin again, which is really game-breaking.

This is especially frustrating if you happen to play with a squad of friends since they will have to invite every time one of the members is affected by the bug.

After being downed – the game overlay/menu seems to be unaware that I am downed Pressing space to skip to respawn is not an option, and under the ESC menu there is no ‘respawn’ option (that menu appears to think I am ready to spawn) I am stuck in some kind of limbo between life and death… unable to respawn, unable to spawn, unable to finish dying or be revived

Bug occurred after i died while going into the prone animation, got revived shortly after and i was stuck in prone, no biggie right? So i re deploy thinking it would would fix itself, but no. I’m stuck on the floor like a snake. Now heres the kicker, i restarted my game and I’m still stuck on the floor. I’ve reset my bindings, I’ve deleted my config but i am still stuck on the floor. If i plug in my controller i can move, sprint, crouch and prone just fine but the instant i move my mouse my character drives to the floor and i can only crawl around, the instant i move the stick on my controller my soldier stands back up like nothing is wrong

With less than two days to go before Battlefield 2042 is launched worldwide, many are wondering if EA will be able to fix the respawn revive bug. Fortunately, EA Help seems to be aware of the issue. However, they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.

04:31 pm (IST): Battlefield Direct Communications on Twitter have confirmed that they’ve identified the cause of the issue that was preventing players from always getting off a revive.
