[Update: June 9] GTA Online down or unable to load saved data from Rockstar servers on PS4/PS5? You're not alone

GTA Online is one of the best online multiplayer action-adventure games of all time. Developed by Rockstar, it is the online component of the best-selling game GTA 5.

The game is currently available on every major console and platform. It seems like GTA Online is here to stay a few more years due to its popularity and active player base.

Set within the fictional state of San Andreas, the game allows up to 30 players to roam freely. Users can complete missions together or opt for competing or cooperative missions.

Over the years, GTA Online has been played and loved by millions worldwide. Despite getting a lot of content, the game is sometimes riddled with some glitches and bugs now and then.

Having said that, many PS4 and PS5 users have flooded the internet with reports complaining that the GTA Online servers are down for them. Several users say they are unable to login into the game.

The issue prevents users from loading the game by greeting them with an error stating, “Rockstar services are not available or “Your save data could not be loaded from the Rockstar cloud servers at this time.”

@RockstarSupport A friend of mind is having issues logging in to GTA Online. He is getting an error that is saying Rockstar services are not available. Or his saved game is not available from the cloud. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

@RockstarSupport I can’t get on GTA online on the ps4, everytime I try it says it can’t get the saved data from Rockstar cloud servers.

Judging by the number of reports, we can safely say that something is indeed broken on Rockstar’s end. However, according to the Rockstar Games server status check, everything is fine.

It looks like the company is still unaware of the issue preventing gamers from logging in to GTA Online on PS4 and PS5.

We hope Rockstar soon acknowledges the issue and works on a fix. In the meantime, you can check the server status by clicking this link.

03:22 pm (IST): Fresh reports on Twitter and Reddit (1, 2, 3, 4) suggest that many GTA Online users have been left stranded as they are unable to play the game.

The official Rockstar Games Service Status page does indicate that GTA Online is down on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

10:02 am (IST): A number of GTA players and other Rockstar Games users (1,2,3,4) now report that the Rockstar game launcher is not working.

This has since been attributed to maintenance and we shall continue to keep an eye on this for new development. Stay tuned.

12:38 pm (IST): Rockstar Support has confirmed that the issue with the Rockstar game launcher has been fixed and it is now available.

However, the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be unavailable for some time as devs are still working on removing some data files.

11:59 am (IST): Fresh user reports on Twitter (1, 2) now suggest that GTA Online is again down or not working for many.

04:56 pm (IST): It appears that the recent issue with GTA 5 Online has been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh user reports on Downdetector.

08:55 am (IST): GTA Online is currently down or not working for some players (1, 2, 3).

04:33 pm (IST): The latest outage seems to have been resolved as the related reports stopped popping up.

07:41 am (IST): Players are reporting server issues for hours now, it keeps saying ‘Rockstar games unavailable’ the Status page shows no issues, but there are reports coming in saying that they still can’t log in.

06:43 pm (IST): Lack of fresh reports suggest that the recent server issue has now been fixed.
