This situation persists even with the latest version of Apollo app for Mac (v1.11.5), according to user reports. The issues seem to have started after receiving the Apollo app version 1.11.3 (1, 2).

According to the reports of the affected users, whenever they try to open the application, it crashes and closes by itself. Then, they get the message ‘File was not found’ in a dialog window.

Support on M1 devices may have ended

The reason behind the ‘crashing’ that many users are suffering in Apollo app for Mac could be the end of support for the M1 devices.

According to a Mac M1 user, while searching for Apollo in the app from his Mac, the application status is ‘Not compatible with this device’.

However, not everyone shares this situation. Among the answers, other Mac M1 users point out that the application appears to them in the store as compatible. But, they also suffer from the crashes described above.

It has not yet been officially confirmed if the Apollo app will really stop supporting the Mac M1. Users will have to wait for an official statement about it.

Viewing thumbnails no longer marks posts as read

Apollo app v1.11.5 users are suffering from another problem. It seems that the behavior of the application regarding the read/unread posts was modified, and Mac users are not liking it.

In previous versions, clicking on a post’s thumbnail marked it as read, and it disappeared from the user’s feed. However now, despite doing the same, the post remains marked as unread.

This new behavior appears to be a bug, and not something deliberately programmed. The situation is causing discomfort to users.

Apollo developers are aware of thumbnails bug, the fix is on the way

Fortunately, the Apollo app developers confirmed that are already aware of this situation. In addition to the above, they also confirm that they are already working on a fix.
