New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 30, 2021) follows:

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is one of the best WearOS available right now. The new watch marks the return of Samsung to Google’s operating system.

The Galaxy Watch 4 range of series was launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event this year. It comes with the new Android Wear OS and comes with 16 GB of internal storage for those looking forward to storing music on their smartwatches.

All watches in the series run on Samsung’s One UI Watch and features the Exynos W920 paired with Mali-G68.

However, users reported several bugs and issues with some issues making it impossible to connect to watch with Google Fit while others complained about the heart rate sensor not working.

As if the existing issues weren’t enough, now some Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users are reporting that the watch is sending the same text message multiple times.

The issue only seems to be affecting when sending text messages over Google Messages and using voice text. Those affected say they are frustrated by the glitch. You can see in the image below how the bug looks like.

My galaxy watch 4 classic Bluetooth will often send duplicate texts when sending though my watch with voice text. I have tried restarting everything. It does not do it on every text and seems to be very random. I have had it send the same text 7 times in a row. Other time it has resent the same text 30 seconds to a minute after sending it the first time. I have great cellular and wifi coverage and it will do it at random at various locations. Hoping somebody else has a solution as the people on the other end are tire of getting the same text multiple times.

I just sent an SMS using the galaxy watch 4 using speech to text and the it sent the message 10 times. The recipient for the message 10 times and it shows as sent 10 times in messages app. S10+, watch 4 -both fully updated as of ~8 hrs ago. Anyone else experience this and/or have a fix? Thanks.

Right now, there are no temporary workarounds to the issue where the Galaxy Watch 4 is sending the same text messages. Since Google and Samsung both haven’t acknowledged the issue, it is highly unlikely a fix is coming soon.

That being said, we’ll keep an active track of the developments on this one and update the story, as and when required.

Update 1 (November 09)

I mentioned earlier that I have been able to reproduce the same issue. It happens occasionally and sporadically for me as well and it is being investigated. (Source)
