Is your Barclays app not working properly? Just yesterday, Barclays UK had a major outage that affected it’s mobile banking as well as Barclaycard app. It took quite a few hours for the bank to restore things back to normal. But today, another problem is coming to light.

Customers are complaining about Barclaycard credit card missing from the banking app. here are some reports:

For its part, the bank’s customer care on Twitter has acknowledged the problem, and has said they are working on a fix. Meanwhile, they have also shared a workaround:

Update 1

Barclays has officially acknowledged the problem:

We’re sorry you can’t view your Barclaycard in your app right now – we’re working to fix this. Everything else is working fine

Update 2

Barclays social media account is now providing an ETA for fix, saying the issue will be resolved by the end of the day.

We are aware after yesterday’s unplanned outage that our customers’ Barclaycard’s are missing from the app. We’re working to get this fixed and we’re hoping it’ll be fixed by the end of today

Update 5 (August 28)

The Barclays service is apparently again experiencing issues as we’re seeing a spike in complaints from users. You can see some of these complaints here.

The Barclays official service status page currently shows no outage. But we are keeping an eye, and will update this story as and when anything newsworthy comes to our notice.

Update 6 (August 28)

The company has officially confirmed the issue with apps. Here’s what they have said:

We’re sorry, we’re fixing a problem with your Barclaycard app right now. 09:46 (BST), 28 August 2019

We’re sorry, you can’t access your Barclaycard account in our Mobile Banking app right now – we’re working to fix this. 09:52 (BST), 28 August 2019

Update 7 (August 28)

As per their official status page, issues with both apps have been fixed.

Update 8 (Sept 08)

As per Barclays service status page, it’s undergoing a scheduled maintenance right now. Here’s what it notifies:

Sorry, we’re carrying out work right now until Sunday at 07:00. See how it affects you below:

You can’t manage your account online, in app, by phone or Pingit. The Barclaycard app is also unavailable.

You can use your card (though some payments may be declined during our work)

You can withdraw money from cash machines (except using your Barclaycard). All other services at cash machines will be unavailable

Payments into your account will be added as soon as our work is finished.

Update 9 (April 10, 2021)

Barclaycard users are once again facing issues wherein the cards have disappeared from the app. What’s good is the team is looking into this matter. Here is what @BarclaysUKHelp said while responding to one of the affected users:

we’re looking into this now. Is there anything in particular you’re needing to check on the account or Barclaycard

Update 10 (April 10, 2021)

The app is now down and throwing “Sorry there’s been a problem with our system” error (as can be seen in the image below) resulting from which users are unable to login.

What’s good is the issue has been officially confirmed by @Barclaycard. here is what they said:

Hello there, we are aware of this and are looking into it. We hope to have this resolved soon, thank you for bearing with us.

Update 11 (April 10, 2021)

While the issue is being looked into, users are suggested to use online banking instead.

we are aware of the issue and are looking to get this fixed ASAP. You can still manage your account on Online Banking in the meantime.

Update 12 (Oct 27, 2021)

Going by the reports coming on Twitter, the current and savings accounts are disappearing for many, and folks are complaining they can only see the details of the Barclaycard, and not their account.

What’s good is BarclaysUK has officially acknowledged the issue. Here’s what they said while responding to a complainant:

Hi there, sorry to hear you’re facing some issues in the app! We’re seeing this happen for a few customers and are working to resolve it ASAP. Thanks so much for your patience

Many users have confused the problem with the app being completely down, however, that’s not the case.

IST 03:44 pm: Following the acknowledgement, Barclays has confirmed that its app service is now back to normal again and the issues have been fixed.

Update 13 (Feb 24, 2023)

IST 03:04 pm: According to reports, some users (1,2,3) say that their Barclaycard is not showing up in the app. Fortunately, Barclaycard support has acknowledged this issue and said that the team is working on a fix.

Morning Phil I hope you’ve been having a great week. Thanks for letting us know that you’re having an issue with the App. The team are aware of this and are working on a fix. I know it’s not ideal and I understand how frustrating it can be when the App isn’t working.

Update 14 (March 16, 2023)

01:57 pm (IST): According to fresh reports on Twitter (1, 2, 3), the app is currently not working for some. Moreover, users also can’t access their card details.

06:16 pm (IST): The recent issue with the app has now resolved as we haven’t come across any widespread reports concerning the same.

Update 15 (October 17, 2023)

03:02 pm (IST): According to recent user reports the mobile app and online banking is currently down or not working. Some users are receiving Error code 0003, which is already known to support, and the status page indicates that the team is working on a fix.
