If you like to play action-adventure games then you must have heard of the Sea of Thieves. It’s an FPS video game developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios.

Sea of Thieves is available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows. This game is full of Shrines which are locations where players can find puzzles, complete them, and earn loot.

There are a total of six Shrines in the Sunken Kingdom where gamers can find offerings such as scattered remains of pirates and coral-covered treasure.

Among them, the Shrine of Coral Tomb is the one where there are five hidden journals located in the Sunken Kingdom. Gamers need to read them all in order to complete the game.

However, a new issue regarding these journals has come to light (1, 2, 3, 4) where some players are not able to read the fourth journal in Shrine of Coral Tomb.

I cant read the 4th journal in the coral tomb. Ive tried on 2 servers. Anyone else experiencing this. (Source)

Journal #4 in the shrine of the coral tomb is unreadable. I’ve logged in and out in a whole new session and wasted the time travelling back there only to find that the bug wasn’t with my game session, but the game itself. Unlocking the commendation is impossible. Note that this is on the steam version.! (Source)

Some players believe that this is happening ever since they installed latest October patch. It is possible that the recent update is responsible for this glitch but there’s no confirmation on this.

On the brighter side, this issue has been acknowledged by support staff and it is currently under investigation. Moreover, players will be informed as soon as it gets sorted out.

Meanwhile, there’s a way to complete this game without reading any journals.

For this, you’ll need to have a friend who has already read this journal before, then he can buy a voyage for you and you’ll just have to complete the voyage to get the curse.

So, if you have a friend who already completed this puzzle then you can finish Shrine of Coral Tomb without any issue. But if not, wait for devs to fix this error.

We hope that this annoying issue gets fixed as soon as possible. We will keep you informed on this matter as and when anything new comes to our notice.
