New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 9, 2021) follows:

Several Hulu subscribers have taken to social media complaining about a missing WWE SmackDown episode. The episode in question is the weekly WWE Friday Night SmackDown that is supposed to air a day or two after Friday.

However, it’s now Monday and there’s still no sign of the missing episode, which is quite odd. Hence, the complaints. Some of these have been given below.

2nd week in a row that Smackdown hasn’t been on Hulu until Monday. Why does it take you guys 2-3 days to put smackdown on Hulu but Monday night raw is always there the very next day? @hulu @WWEonFOX

I thought it was odd that this past Friday night #SmackDown didn’t record on my @hulu live but it it is now Sunday evening and still no new samckdown. What’s up @hulu_support #wwe @WWEonFOX

Now, WWE’s contract with Hulu for next-day on-demand access to RAW, SmackDown, and other related content in the US was recently revealed to be ending at the end of the year or early 2022.

Could that be the reason for the delay? Seems unlikely considering that such delays aren’t exactly rare.

Moreover, several Hulu subscribers have been complaining for quite some time now that WWE SmackDown episodes on Hulu show up randomly, sometimes following days of hold-up.

It’s completely irregular. Some days it’ll be Saturday afternoon/evening, other times It’s not until sometime Sunday, and at least once it was Monday morning. Meanwhile, their 90 minute version of Raw is always up by 7am Tuesday morning like freakin’ clockwork.

Thus, it is not unsafe to say that it’s yet another one of those delays.

Whatever the cause, Hulu Support has now acknowledged the delay saying that they do their best to make episodes available as soon as they’re received from partners and that they’re working on it.

Unfortunately, an ETA has still not been given out so an exact date for the release of the said episode is still unknown.

Support did recommend adding the show to Watchlist/My Stuff to stay in the know regarding info about its release though, and we recommend doing the same.

One user also reported that the missing WWE Friday Night SmackDown episode 32 has mistakenly been put into Season 3 on Hulu instead of Season 23.

If this indeed is true then the missing episode has not actually been delayed, but has just found itself in the wrong place.

Update 1 (October 20)

Hulu said that they have uploaded the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on their app. Those interested should add it to their Watchlist so they get notified about the same immediately.

We’re sorry to hear about any frustration! We’ve received similar reports in regards to this and are working to get the episode up ASAP! In the meantime, be sure to keep the WWE Friday Night SmackDown in your My Stuff/Watchlist for updates. We appreciate your patience!
