Pandora support aware latest update removed thumbs down button in Android Auto, fix in works
Pandora is a music streaming service just like Spotify that offers a wide range of music and podcasts.
This music service has gradually become popular and grown its users base into millions. It currently has over 55 million active users and more than 6 million subscribers.
Pandora is free, but users can also choose for a premium or plus paid subscription plan, if they want to enjoy all the perks of this service.
The Plus service offers ad-free listening and unlimited skips, while Pandora Premium provides unlimited offline listening and lets you create and share playlists including all the benefits of Pandora Plus.
In Pandora app, there are two options – thumbs up and thumbs down. The names themselves clear their functionalities.
Meanwhile, for those unaware, giving a thumbs up to a song will tell Pandora to bring similar artists and songs to your playlist.
Whereas, if you thumbs down a song, it means that you don’t want to see that track on the particular station. But lately, some Pandora users on Android Auto are reporting a bug where thumbs down button is missing.
Has anyone else noticed that there is now no thumbs down option in Android Auto??? How can I tell Pandora I don’t want to listen to a song ever now? I’ve been using Pandora on Android Auto for years this is extremely frustrating. (Source)
@PandoraSupport hey, you seemed to have removed the thumbs down from Android Auto. Is this an Android Auto issue. Others have the same, is this hopefully just a temporary change because it’s a main function of the radio. (Source)
As per reports, after recent Pandora update on Android Auto, thumbs up button is appearing where thumbs down button used to be. Whereas, thumbs down button has been removed.
Meanwhile, in mobile Pandora app, both thumbs buttons are showing normally as they should. So, there seems a bug, particularly in Android Auto Pandora app.
On the brighter side, Pandora Support has acknowledged this annoying bug and said that they are aware of such an issue. Moreover, support team is currently working to fix it.
However, no ETA has been provided as to when exactly this issue will be sorted out. Also, there’s no temporary workaround available at the moment.
All in all, you’ll have to wait for devs to fix this annoying issue of thumbs-down button missing. We hope that it gets fixed as soon as possible.
