New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 18, 2021) follows:

Diablo 2 is a hack and slash RPG that was published by Blizzard Entertainment back in 2000. The game was a huge commercial success and was loved by many. Fast forward to 2021, Blizzard decided to remaster the original title and named it Diablo 2: Resurrected.

The newer version refreshes the game’s graphics and network function without losing the original Diablo 2 experience. The 2D sprites are now replaced by 3D models along with several cutscenes remastered.

Players can even import save files over from the original version of the game and continue from there. However, not everything was sunshine and rainbow when the game was released on September 23 this year.

Several Diablo 2: Resurrected players reported that the game was crashing for them while others complained of lost progress and the disappearance of offline characters amongst many more bugs.

Many were wondering why a 20-year-old game was having bugs in the first place. As if that wasn’t enough, Blizzard recently introduced a queue system to the game so that they could fix server issues.

While the patch introduced the queue system on PC, Blizzard seems to have extended it over to the PlayStation 4 already. Those playing on the console are now reporting high queue times when trying to play Diablo 2: Resurrected.

Blizzard recently released patch 1.06 for the PlayStation 4 that shows a queue time if the waiting time is too much.

Players are bashing Blizzard for not being able to fix their servers despite them being a company generating billions in revenue. Many are even wondering why a single-player story-driven game has a login queue in the first place.

I keep reading mfs are having queue problems and that servers ain’t working on ps4 but whenever I try to play online it works perfectly fine. Idk how common this is so just asking.(Source)

This game is so horribly broken you have to queue to play solo. I swear to Christ I will never play another game that requires an internet connection for Solo play again. This sucks. @Diablo @BlizzardCSEU_EN @Blizzard_Ent

Blizzard is yet to come out and say anything on the matter. Till then, players are left at the mercy of the servers before they are able to login into the game, let alone play.

We just hope Blizzard fixes the server overloading issue with Diablo 2: Resurrected soon and players are able to enjoy the game. When they do, we will update this space to reflect the same so make sure you keep checking for further updates.

Update 1 (October 30)

01:58 pm (IST): A community manager on the Blizzard forum explains how they are working on resolving Diablo 2: Resurrected outage issues.

Moreover, there will be some significant updates coming to the game in terms of bug fixes and features. More on that here.
