New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 15, 2021) follows:
Pokemon Go is a popular augmented reality game developed and published by Niantic in 2016. Since then, this video game has been downloaded by millions of users around the world.
It has gradually become one of the most played AR games available on Android and iOS. But gamers have also reported several issues while playing Pokemon Go and you can check them all in our dedicated tracker.
In a recent development, two new software glitches have come to light where some players are having a visual issue with Nanab Berries and tag icons.
As per reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), Nanab Berries render weirdly and appear pink when players try to feed them to Pokemon. These berries are now shown in 2D format rather than 3D with just a purple shape, while other fruits are shown as usual.
Opened pokémon go again only to see that the nanab berries have been sent to the shadow realm and that left a pink hole that leads into the void or something (Source)
Interesting. It was only the Nanabs that were like that. First time I’ve had a glitch like this. (Source)
On the other hand, tag icons that appear on the left side of Pokemon’s name are misplaced. They have shifted too much that some of them are only visible half.
The image below shows how tag icons are misplaced:
Hi, I’ve been noticing this glitch/bug on the app for a few days now where the tag icon next to the pokemon names are appearing far away than usual..
Looks weird and confusing (Source)
Why is it that anytime Niantic releases an update SOMETHING else becomes a problem? Tag placement, the can evolve search function, friends list, charge bar color, etc.? Why can’t they just release an update that is actually improving the game? I don’t get it. (Source)
According to some players, these issues have started to show up after recent Pokemon Go update. Also, these are widespread issues affecting gamers on a large scale.
On the brighter side, Niantic Help has acknowledged these bugs and said that they are currently under investigation. Moreover, the support team assured users of a fix as soon as possible.
However, no ETA has been provided as to when exactly gamers will get rid of these visual issues. We hope that these annoying issues get sorted out soon.
Unfortunately, there is no temporary workaround available at the moment besides the usual re-installing or clearing cache which isn’t helping either.
All in all, you’ll have to wait for Niantic to fix these Nanab Berries and tag icon issues. That said, we will keep you informed when anything comes to our notice.
Update 1 (October 25)
IST 05:08 pm: Niantic has confirmed that the team has fixed the issue where the tag icon was spaced too far away from Pokémon name in Pokédex.
