Riot Games aware of League of Legends issue with North America transfers not working, but no ETA for fix

League of Legends is one of the oldest and most popular team-based strategy game initially released in 2009. Developed and published by Riot Games, this video game can be played on Windows and Mac.

It is a multiplayer online battle arena game that involves two teams and players need to earn XP by killing enemies. The game was running fine until some gamers begun to encounter issues with account transfers.

As per the reports (1, 2, 3), gamers are complaining about an issue where they are unable to transfer their account to North America.

In detail, when players are trying to transfer accounts to North America, it says ‘account transfer unavailable’. This account transfer feature has not been available since September 9, 2021.

In some cases, it doesn’t even show an option to switch to North America on the list. This problem is not just with NA since some players trying to switch to any other region also can’t do it.

I had the same problem. I moved from Oceania to NA, and when I asked the Riot support, they basically said that Oceania account transfers are not available right now. And they don’t have an ETA on when it’s available. So yeah… Have fun grinding on your second account! I didn’t. (Source)

According to a player, the account transfers were disabled for some time, but when the situation was back to normal, still he wasn’t able to transfer account over to another region.

Meanwhile, it is good to see that Riot Games support has acknowledged the issue with NA transfers and they are currently investigating it.

However, no ETA has been provided as to when this issue with League of Legends account transfers to North America will actually be fixed. For some reason, though, the service status shows all is well.

We hope that Riot Games fixes the League of Legends North America transfers issue as soon as possible so that gamers can once again make their transfers as usual.
